It will sit there until I go into MY mailbox and retrieve it. Then it will move into your "sentbox". That way you'll always know when someone has read a PM you've sent!

I've read it... so if you look now, the one you sent me should be in your "sentbox".

Ok, so a lot has happened since I last posted. I took a new job with my company back in July of 2008, got pregnant in October of 2008 and had my son on July 12th. The whole time I was pregnant all I did was think about how I don't want to be overweight all of my life and I definitely don't want to be a FAT mom. I decided that after I had my son I would get to my goal weight of 130. I really feel ready and am even though I want and feel I need to see the number drop on the scale that this needs to be a lifestyle change for me too. So here goes nothing.

I had lost all of my baby weight (+/-25 lbs) and have lost another 8 lbs on top of that since July 12th.

According to my scale at home I started doing Atkins at 238
Today: 230
1st goal: Hitting Onederland 199
2nd goal: 150 and get invisalign (braces)
Final goal: 130 (at that time I will evaluate and see if I need to lose more)

So total lost as of 8/11/09 - 8 lbs

Thanks Merlot for your support! Smile I finally feel like I am at a point of no return. It isn't work for me anymore to eat this way. That isn't to say that I don't miss foods but now I see how far I have come. I still have a long way to go but see it can be achieved.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE those milestones! 20 pounds often makes a difference. How are the clothes fitting? Have you had to go to the back closet for a size a little smaller?

Thanks guys! Yes, 20 lbs has become noticeable. I am now in a size 18 pant and 1X shirt. I actually want to dress up because I know things will fit. I get excited to get dressed in the morning. Smile

Way to go, lady!!

To me, the ratification of all our hard efforts is NOT the scale...it is in the clothes being WAY BAGGY and the one's in the back closet, a size smaller, now FIT.

Be careful, you may just s-l-i-d-e past wearing some clothing because you forget to try them on. That happened to me with a fantastic pant suit. I was on a killer losing streak, assumed the outfit was too small, and when I tried it on I quickly had to wear it because in 2 more weeks, it was OBVIOUSLY baggy!

You are doing SO great...keep it up!

Smerbear, HANG IN THERE! The body is a very weird thing. As you know, the line down is never "linear"... it stalls, stops, wiggles, and drops. Let's go for the drops!

Do your best, stick to the plan and you WILL be rewarded, regardless of the "dry spells."

My best to you ... keep on encouraging others as you always have ... it will be returned to you many times over!

DON'T get discouraged! Thanksgiving is almost a week away! And, being 65, a lifetime is a LONG time, so just learn patience and achieve peace...it will all be OK over time! You are young and have LOTS of time...so don't let this discourage you!

I can tell from your compassion to others that you can do this!

hey smerbear....20 ounds is awesome, and don't forget those pregnancy hormones can still muck with you for like a year (i've heard) after giving birth. just remember you are doing exactly the right for yourself and baby.... and you are doing great!

bring on thanksgiving! pumpkin-cream cheese, p-pie spice and a bit of liquid splenda with vanilla (no sugar added) is DIVINE! and turkey...and all the roasted veg we're allowed .........oh YES!

oh wait, it's not thanksgiving here Smile

make some zucchini thingys to blob cream cheese on, and you won't be missing out on snack...also jello fluff...oh YES!

zucchini-thingys:

1 large grated and dried out as best you can zucchini
2 cups shredded cheese
2 eggs

mix together with whatever spice you're into at the moment, and feel free to add a bit of tomato paste

spread into thin circles and bake til they're browned - differs per oven, so throw them on say 250 and do your best.

Thanks for the "LC Zucchini Thingy"

***Thanks Merlot and Red, I'm still going strong. I am noticing a pattern with me. The last week of the month is when I get my period and I have noticed, oddly that during that week I drop a good 4 lbs or so. I have already lost 2 lbs this week. I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouthl...I never thought I would love my period so much...hahahaha!!!! Smile I really appreciate the encouragement from you guys!!!!

That is GREAT! The body is such a weird thing...but it will do what it wants to as we get impatient for it to SPEED UP! A futile effort, at best!

So we will all root for the TOM! Hormonal, I am sure.

My young friend, it my pleasure to encourage you to get to where you want to be! You already project yourself as pretty and positive...and others see that.

My best to you...

Well I got off track for a bit. My son ended up getting RSV and an ear infection then it turned to pneumonia...he got over that...then he ended up with another ear infection, then he ended up with bronchiolitis and croup, then another ear infection, and finally one more ear infection and finally he is healthy again (although he is scheduled for tubes on the 15th). I noticed during this time that I stress eat so I got off track and now I am back. I am where I was when I left (217) so not so bad...but nothing new. Help me to get back on track guys!!!! I need your support more than ever and I really appreciate all that you guys have helped me through! Thank you! Very Happy
