I started last Friday and I am looking forward to hearing your story of success! I could use a buddy![]()
I'm a UK person too, and been doing atkins for a week now. I have lost 7lbs (I think, it was on the scales this morning) and I started to really get into it midweek. I have however just come back from a BBQ, where I had about four sips of champagne and a piece of choc (my friends just got engaged) and so feel bad about that, so drinking a few pints of water before bed.
I feel SOOOO thirsty the whole week, and like my mouth is dry, even though I am drinking pints and pints of water per day. Anyone else feel like that?
Also I have been drinking diet coke which has aspartame so i need to look up if that makes me a bad girl or not.
Whats your story'? How much do you want to lose etc?
Congrats on your loss!!!
drinking diet soda is fine but be sure to count each can as 1 net carb.
Ketosis uses a LOT of water so drink up! Ideally, you should drink half of your weight in ounces of water everyday.
About the engagement party though, I know how you felt after you drank the champagne and ate the choc but it's still less than what you would've eaten before atkins, right? It's just that our frames of mind change. Don't worry too much about it, just focus on how much you're losing!
Hi,
I am also just about to embark on my Induction, What sort of meals are you putting together during the induction, as I am struggling to come up with a plan.

I eat things like omelettes or eggs and sausages in the morning but i find them hard to get down now. The other day i had an atkins shake in the morning, it was really nice but i think they're quite expensive. For lunch i usually have a salad and put stuff like fish and peppers and cucumbers in it. I find olive oil and salt make a nice dressing, otherwise mayonnaise can be ok.
I don't think i'm eating enough meat but for dinner you could have meat and some veggies. Spinach with cream and a steak can be nice, otherwise fish can also do the trick.
I basically try and get all my veggies and I'll have some cheese but not more than 3oz a day or other stuff like mayonnaise or eggs that bulk up the carbs a bit more.
I guess you should make a note of all the foods you like on the allowed foods list and then try and be creative with them so you're not always eating the same things every day.
Good luck!![]()
