    Why is this not working for me?

    At first I thought Induction wasnt working for me because I thought the birth control pills I started taking were working against me, until someone told me it could be that I'm using too many low-carb products.

    Check it out and tell me what you think:

    Breakfast: Morning Start bar - 2 net carbs

    Lunch: 1 slice of Atkins bread - 3 net carbs
    3-4 slices of turkey breast, or roast beef, or salami
    Sugar free Jello
    Atkins Endulge bar (somtimes) - 2 net carbs

    Dinner: Steak or Chicken (seasoned with salt & pepper..no bbq sauces)
    2 cups of Salad and 1 cup veggies

    I don't really snack at night because I usually eat it along with my lunch
    (Endulge bar or one of those atkins snacks..)

    Do you think all those low-carb products are causing the problem?

    I'd cut out any carbs that don't come from vegetables...particularly if you're still doing the induction weeks.

    You may find that you have that problem after induction.

    If I eat any carbs other than those found in vegies, I stop losing weight. Same if I up my fats too high. So the exotic dishes and desserts are out except for 1-2 times a week.

    A big no-no for me though was the breakfast bars. I'd gain when I ate them.

    I also advise increasing exercise --- it is key to continued and sustained weight loss, no matter what program you are trying.

    Definately! Get rid of the crutches.

    You are having the S.F. jello and that is a wonderful treat. Add cream for extra flavor.

    Do you not like eggs? I notice no eggs on your menu. If it is time then I would just boil a bunch and eat them on the run. Also, I have never seen anybody eat ALL their veggies at one meal. I have no idea if it matters, but thats a lot of food at one sitting. Maybe try to spread out your veggies. I know several people have lost weight by eating less at dinner and more at lunch, So I think this can help.
    And last but not least, are you drinking at least 64 ounces of water???

    I would stay away from the products. I am a firm believer that the people who own Atkins now are more interested in making money off of the products than you losing weight. Just my thoughts.

    Dear Marmoura,

    I have noticed with my weight loss, that when I added 1/2 an avocado and the Atkins bars and candies to my diet, I slowed down my progress.

    I can definitely tell a difference.

    I am going to hold off until I get through Induction; or at least cut w-a-y back, and just have one of something--like an Endulge bar at night after dinner or as a late snack followed by a tall glass of ice water--then I feel full and don't want another snack. I immediately do some journal-writing, though, to see how I am feeling about that snack. It really lets me see how I am feeling about what I snack on before, during, and after any snack.

    Lunacat's reminder about the hard-boiled eggs is excellent! In fact I am going to go boil some right now. I treated myself and splurged on the organic ones.
