    So, with great trepidation, I tried this today. I must be honest, I was put off by the look of the thing - like a big spongy fungus - but it was actually ok. My problem is, I canNOT stand the taste of artificial sweeteners. (People tell me that, if I just start eating / drinking them, I'll get used to the taste. But, really, I'd rather just do without.) So, I skipped the splenda and the DaVinci's, and used just the cinnamon and vanilla. Split in half, toasted a bit, and spread with cream cheese, this thing wasn't bad. Helped my psychological craving for bread, even if it was a bit odd. Sorry to be so luke-warm on this recipe that everyone loves... maybe I need to try a new variation

    No I can't do sweeteners either. I use salt and pepper and herbs. It's a bit more like bread when it is a day old, fresh it is more like cake. It makes a great bacon sandwich though.

    Oh, bacon sandwich is a great idea! Also, I may have made it in too small a container, and it got thicker than it should have. It was almost as tall as it was round. Maybe I'd like the consistency better if it were thinner.

    Added: I do have to say - it certainly is filling!! Over two hours since I ate the flax bread, and my tummy still feels comfortably full. (Not stuffed, but satisfied-feeling)
