    very smart observation Greg.
The one bite, one meal of carby old fav junk MIGHT not pull ya in that moment. You feel secure eating that moderation food.
THEN a week later it hits ya! I want XYZ and you have to fight like a manic to not give into that one bite, that one controlled meal from SO LONG ago. It never left your mind Great insight on that one!! What doesn't drag you down today can take you down 1-2-3 weeks or a month later for sure!

A very full belly never let anyone down and don't eat a little something, before a big event that you are unsure of you EAT ALOT to ensure your next food choice in your mouth is never one from a hunger pang.

ZeroCarb, If I can win my battle with the first bite, I don't have to wage war with bite number 100! Sign on my mirror; "It's the first bite, stupid!"

My weight loss continues at the same pace. I'm being a little less strict on my diet to try and experiment with cravings and will power and so far no big problems. It feels good to be in control I have to admit.

Getting to the point where clothing is an issue so starting to shuffle my closet to older cloths. I was pushing the limits of 3XL in January and now I'm back into XL or 2XL slim cut. Was into 42 & 44 pants and now some 40 are loose but haven't tried 38 yet.

I don't feel any smaller though when I look in the mirror which is strange but I know I am. I took before pictures in February so I'll take some update pics soon to compare.

Hoping to get to 280s in the next week for the first time in over 6 years.

Wow, you are really on the road! I am also interested in how it takes awhile for the self image to catch up to the real picture. Love your weight chart at the bottom of your page. Would you mind if I copied your idea. GREG

The interesting thing with the self image is it is only a problem when I'm not dressed. I don't look any smaller to my own eye. When I look down I don't feel any smaller.

When I'm dressed the loss is very evident. Old clothes are falling off. New much smaller clothes are fitting very well and I'm visibly slimmer. Also when I feel my sides etc I feel smaller.

I would say my weight is coming off from the top down. My arms and shoulders feel much smaller. It is starting to go from my belly/waist now.

Please use the format. It is not mine by any stretch. I copied it from someone back in 2004 when I first did Atkins with great success.

Congratulations, B. You are on the train to success again.

It is interesting to learn how long it is before we feel good about our self-image. I listened to a great blog post about self-image and dieting. It really helped me learn to love the way I look, regardless.
I am Arlene and Dr Mary Vernon says it best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaquSijXJkQ for me. I used to stand under my plum tree waiting for the fruit to ripen and fall, now I stand near a coconut tree.

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing well.

I've not been keeping up with my journal and I've been a little more relaxed with my eating. Trying to learn to eat what I want in moderation and gauge what triggers cravings etc.

Since my last update I've still tracked every day my food using LoseIt!. Before my last update I was religiously not eating my exercise carbs and staying within the carbs for a 2lb a week loss. Since the last update on some days I will eat into my exercise carbs but not severely so. I am 6'4" so some days I'll get up around 2400 calories but not often. When I'm hungry I eat and when I'm really hungry I will strictly eat a low carb meal as to not get on a carb roller coaster.

Most of my extra carbs are from beer. We are having a nice summer and have had a few social gatherings. Was able to enjoy myself without falling victim to excess carbs again.

Fast food is a slippery slope for me so I've still avoided it almost entirely and when not avoidable been very particular about what I got, not taken fries, watched toppings and sauces.

I'm really happy with my progress despite this. I feel good and in control for the first time in a long time. In the last 8 weeks I wouldn't guess my carbs for a day were any more than 75 grams except for once or twice.

I'm debating starting running again as I've been craving it lately so if I can do so and without injury I expect I'll have some more big drops soon.

I continue to get leaner. I was having trouble with size 44 pants in Feb. 38 pants I bought in early July are now looser than when new so despite a low loss on the scale for 8 weeks, I've slimmed.
