How long does it take for the appetite to decrease?

How long is the norm for appetite decreasing? I have been on for 12 days now and sometimes it seems i am not experiencing my appetite decreasing...

The best defense against the appetite has always been ketosis for me. Are you in ketosis?

make sure you are getting your 64oz of water a day...dehydration can make you feel hungry....
It takes 28 days to break/set mental habbits too..If you were a habitual snacker it might just be force of habbit....I used sugar-free gum (sparingly..it's not approved for induction, but I did it anyway. It had no effect on my loss, but everyone is different) to help curb my snack habbit. It give your mouth something to do- I did the same thing when I quit smoking

the 28 days is from my own exp..it could take you longer or shorter

I've been doing Atkins for about a month now.

I have noticed a decrease in my appetite that started after just about one week. However, this decrease is not totally consistent. For example, I will experience maybe 2 days of the each week when I am suddenly a bit more hungry, and I just eat more food [trying to stay with approved foods]. I like chubrock's suggestion, too.

How much are you eating? How much are you exercising? If you have been used to counting calories, you may be restricting your intake too much so that you really are hungry. If you are exercising more and eating less - hunger is natural. You should eat until you are satisfied - no more, no less. If you finish a meal and you're still hungry, wait a bit to let it settle then if you are still hungry half an hour later, try a bit more meat. My first response to hunger - drink water. If that doesn't satisfy, then I go ahead and enjoy a small low carb snack. I usually find an ounce or so of cheese does the trick.

Hey Ms. Trying you arent alone, the first time(s) i did induction i never noticed any decrease in my appetite and i was in Ketosis the whole time. But i did notice that foods that i was used to like bread and potatoes ( i was a potato fiend) i stopped craving them and i didnt miss them at all, which i thought was unusual but cool. I did start craving sugar really badly and if i went and had a control carb piece of chocolate it would turn into a major binge. This isnt the advise you want to hear but the key is self control- I dont have it and im working on it. If i find out the secret i'll let ya know
