yes I know what you mean Arlene. My Mom is 89 and her 2 broken hips took longer to recover than someone younger but if your Ma is improving day by day then she has it whipped at her age And they have the time to recover actually, not like you have '12 weeks and back to work!', which is never a good thing really LOL....Happy things did go well! And that cafeteria sounds like a good place to eat for you!!

    today is simple
we have sunshine here...Hooray...the dull dark rainy colder days are gone for a bit and I am enjoying this nicer weather alot!

    tuna and mayo
dinner, hmm, thinking massive bacon/cheese omelet

    Fish for supper..
Fillets of Cod, breaded, and pan fried.. Cod is a good fish but it MUST be well done over a medium heat in oil..
A salad with a hard boiled egg in the salad.. My salad dressing..
Frozen blueberries with cream and splenda for dessert..
I used to live to eat......... Now I eat to live.....
Even a Fish wouldn't get into trouble if it would only keep its mouth shut..

On my way home today. Mom is ensconced in a rehab hospital for up to 20 days if she needs it. I think she will start getting her strength back FAST so she can get out of there!!! Lots of wonderful help, but the menu is limited and it is NOT HOME!

I had bacon and eggs in Colorado Springs Airport and a lettuce wrapped burger in LA. Almost home for a few days! Can’t wait to see my kitties!

Arlene so cool ya got your mom thru it all and she is in rehab to recover. Mom did rehab and it did wonders to help her in the beginning, and she had 21 days and got out in 16 cause she was going stir crazy and could walk fine then Hope your mom recovers faster now and gets home to her own routine!!

leftover pork chops later and NY strip steaks for dinner. I think some garlic cheese melted over my steak...oh yea, yum

Last night (Tuesday) for supper I made chicken legs with the back attached, skin and bone in, baked in the oven in a broth spiked with herbs, spices, and Worchester sauce..
Steamed broccoli with a buttery, garlic sauce over them..
Frozen blueberries with heavy cream and splenda..
    Pot of tea..

2 weeks in Boise means alot of snow right? I have no clue on that area but I think it is in the snow belt right LOL

today is a ton of chicken wings in the oven and can't wait...cooking now

tonight is a large amt. of sauteed shrimp with Old Bay seasoning dipped in a hot cheese sauce I buy that I love. I will find ways to make it '0' carb and not a processed dipping sauce, just have to kinda find time to care about doing that

winter is boring, my eating is trying to make up for boring....when warm and I move and never stop in the nice hot weather, I can do very simple basic food. Bored I require weird combo tastes I guess to fight the boredom of the cold yuck days

tonight (Thursday) I decided to make one of those complicated dishes..
Using minced turkey into burgers with the fillings, sear them, remove and add a ton of veggies in the pan, sear them and add liquid and return the burgers back to cook in the mixture..
Came out simply delicious and definitely my wife would like me to make it again..
Blanc Mange with heavy cream for dessert..
    Pot of tea as usual...............
I used to live to eat......... Now I eat to live.....

Yum, that sounds good, Steve. I am here in Boise, and will have to make some dinners that my grandson will like that are not too time consuming and he will like. That include some veges. I am also thinking wings.....
