i am losing weight like crazy!

    Hallo to everyone.
Let me start by saying sorry for my poor english, i am a greek girl who started Atkins on Sunday 19 Feb and till now, Wed 22feb i lost 4!!! kilos!!! I am sooo amazed and started to look for similar cases because i can see it on the scale but more importantly i can see it in my clothes and can not believe it! I eat 3 carb free meals a day, i started off 68 kilos and now i weigh 64! I would not weigh myself until next sunday but i did since i felt lighter and one of my jeans managed to button up perfectly! it is sooo strange because we are talking about only 3 full days! Why is this happening??

a bit much in 3 days maybe, but please dont have carb free meals, have 20grams of carbs split through-out the day in the form of veggies. drink lots of water. i know its easy to get excited about losing so much but it needs to be sensible so eat up your veggies, you will still lose. good luck

Dear Tracy thank you so much for your reply. I do eat some vegetables (one tomato per day, one cucumber and some letice). I do not want to lose more than 10 kilos (my height is 1.75cm) because then i will be extremely slim and this is not something i want, with this pace though i'm afraid that i will lose many kilos too fast. And what will happen when i'm off the diet and start eating some carbs again? i cannot live forever without tasting french fries again!! does losing weight this fast mean that i will gain it all back as soon as i start eating outside the diet??

annie, have you read the book? If not, you really really need to read it! There are many levels of the diet, and you need to find the level that works for you. You probably should soon start including certain foods, in certain amounts, to lose weight at the right pace, and to develop a personalized maintenance diet that will keep you slim.

    Annie,

Many of us have decided that we must eat low carb for the rest of our lives. That does not mean never tasting fries again, but keeping 99% to the plan and straying rarely. If you return to the way you were eating before the weight will come back quickly. The first weight you lose is made up of some fat, but a lot of water, too. Carbs keep water in your body and when you do not eat as many or none, you lose water. You need to be supplimenting with minerals and salt. I do hope you are reading or doing research on this way of eating so you are successful both in losing and keeping it off.

Even you, someone show does not need to lose much, can get healthier by eating this way for the rest of your life.
