Myself I think I would really analyze what you're eating and make sure you haven't missed something that is sabotaging your efforts. Arlene is right and it could be that it's just the way your body is adjusting, but I ( and this is just me because it has happened to me) would be scrutenizing absolutely every label and re-reading the carb counts on everything I ate. Sometimes it really is just one little thing you are unaware of that is slowing you down. For instance I was making these burger patties and carefully adding only spices I knew contained 0 sugars, carefully calculating the amount of onion going in and that the bacon I added had no sugar. I thought they would be great with some added parmesan....cheese right so thats okay. Boom intstant stall and when I went back over things it turned out the parmesan I thought was real, was just a cheese product and contained carbs and sugars and well all things bad. So you see it's easy to do.

Good advice there from Allie. Have a couple of days of protein and fat aonly - no carbs. Challenging but not too hard.

Then bring back vegetables one at a time, to see if any set off nasty reactions.

Then, and only then, go to the other foods lik nuts etc. Processed foods wait right till the end, and use my rule - if it has more than 8 ingredients, leave it in the shop!

Great suggestions from both of you Odille and Allie. I read everything on packages NOW! I stalled so many times for the very reasons pointed out. You'll be okay. You are worth it!

SUPER!! You are now in the groove!
I am Arlene and Dr Mary Vernon says it best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaquSijXJkQ for me. I used to stand under my plum tree waiting for the fruit to ripen and fall, now I stand near a coconut tree.

    So happy for you Elizabeth.

Now you are motivated and thinking positively.

As Allie say, sometimes you just have to hang in their and eventually you get results!

    Have a great week!

Thats great Elizabeth!!! It's all about sticking it out to get those results. I've been on a mission to lose 2lbs a week for a special event I have this summer and I have put on almost a lb this week with only 3 days to go till I weigh in on Monday. I know I need to go right back to the basics, and I know that now I'll have to work twice as hard to catch up which gets a bit disheartening as you know. I haven't been preparing food the way I should and I've been experimenting with how much I can "get away" with. Clearly it isn't much so it's back to induction for me

Great job and keep up the fight!

You have succeeded in the past Allie and remember you have been ill and on antibiotics which could possibly have something to do with your weight gain. You'll be back in the groove in no time. Hope it wasn't too difficult returning to work.

As for me, I am stalled!

Congratulations Elizabeth! Obviously this is working for you and I am happy for you!

HURRAH Elizabeth!!! It is good to see the difference in numbers as well as in how you feel and how your clothes fit. Congratulations for not stopping and sticking to it!

Now Jo and Allie, you both are so good at helping others I hope you kept some of that in reserve for yourselves. Allie, I know you have a goal and i hope you get to it or close, and take the knowledge withyou to the reunion that you are getting healthier by the day. Jo, you are on a long term plan here and a little stall is not unheard of. if it gets worrysome to you, go back to the book and read about it or ask for help. We will smother you with ideas! LOL

Arlene, you are absolutely correct. I sat re-reading parts of the book last evening while the TV was on and today I am on track so far and I''ll "keep on keepin' on" since I am not a quitter!

There might be a little STRESS too waiting for this grandchild to make his or her entrance into our world. Stress does have an impact. Hopefully next week after seeing and holding our new grandchild I will see a weight loss. My clothes are feeling looser which is always a good sign and I had on a pair of size 10 slacks yesterday and was comfortable in them which is also a good sign.

Thanks for your ongoing care and concern and help!

    Have a lovely day!

    Jo
