    Nightly Leg Cramps GONE!

I am so happy because it worked!!!! About a month ago I read a post and for the LIFE of me, I can't find it again. I am going to keep looking and come back to edit of I do.

HOWEVER, after ALL the research I have done on LC and leg cramps I read that 20 days of taking 3 SLOMAG a day, and it has to be 20 days of 3 a day.... will help.

I woke up this morning, 16 days into it and realized that it is working!!!! I had the cramps toned down to the point where I did not have to jump out of bed crying anymore, they wold relax as I lay still, but they were always present along with ripples of muscles just under my skin most of the day. That is all gone!

I had been taking magnesium, and salt and ALL the other recommended suggestions, but the Slomag is designed to go through the digestive system very slowly and be more fully absorbed. Slomag is expensive, but for an uninterrupted night's sleep it is well worth it. One bottle gives you the full 20 days of 3 per day. I take mine at night, magnesium relaxes you and makes you drowsy.

After the 20 days, I am going to go back to one a day, and if the cramps come back, I remember is said to take 2 a day.

I may have to be on this for a long time, as the cramps are supposed to go away after 50 grams of carbs are eaten daily and I am not sure I will go there again, regularly.

    Hope this helps you.

Arlene..I was reading your post and I said to myself "wow, that is me". I have leg cramps, foot cramps, thigh cramps NIGHTLY!!! And I can also feel the ripple there all day, like it is going to go into a full fledge cramp anytime now. I get them so bad, I get sick. So where can I get the SLOMAG ? You said it was expensive...like what kind of price range are you talking about? Oh and by the way I have just joined. Have been doing low carb since Jan 2012.. Have only lost 27 lbs, but have lost inches..so I am happy. Although i am at sort of a stand still right now. But I am not getting discouraged.

Hi bslick, I still have to be sure to get enough salt if my carbs are below 30 to 35 a day as well as magnesium. You can find Slow Mag in your drugstore, and the price depends on where you shop. It is around $10 for 30 I think. I now order it online so I can get about five or more at once. The stores tend not to stock too much. My hubby takes it as well. I have found, since I have upped my carbs that the cramps are much more controlled and even gone most nights.

I also keep small bottles of Tonic water, has quinine in it and that is what used to be prescribed for cramps until outlawed here in US only, and drink half a bottle if they are bad. It usually helps.

    good luck!

Does anyone know why you can only by potassium in amounts equal to 3% of the USRDA when purchasing it in supplement form in the US?

Tony.... I got curious and looked it up. Potassium is toxic and interferes with some prescribed medications.

    "
    Toxicity

Healthy potassium levels usually range between 3.6 and 4.8 milliequivalents per liter, or mEq/L. Taking more than your recommended dose of potassium may cause your blood potassium levels to spike above 6 mEq/L, causing hyperkalemia. Symptoms of potassium toxicity require immediate medical treatment and include heart rate irregularities, weakness or temporary paralysis. You can reduce your risk of developing hyperkalemia by only taking potassium supplements as directed by your doctor.
