Started, see how it goes, the weight I hope....

Well, that's the first week over and a 4lbs loss, not over the moon but it is going in the right direction. I had a challenge yesterday, as my daughter was home from uni for a few days and she and her mum made a lemon drizzle, cream cake thing which looks the business, those two are skinny and can afford to eat stuff like that every now and again, but me? well.......

I am heading to Ireland for a few days on monday, another challenge ahead of me, have you ever tried Irish bread, wheaten, soda but part of the reason I started this was because of that trip, didn't want the family to see me with the weight on. Anyway I have put a ticker into my signature, lets see if it works..................

    Hi jogger
congratulations on your 4lb loss thats great and well done for staying clear of the cake, its so hard when family and friends around us are consuming things we used to love!

    Hi Jogger

Huge congrats on your first 4lbs gone! Well done!

Clare is right, the hardest thing I find is the challenge of staying on track when company is about. It's not so much that I really want the food, it's the habit of joining in with others. I try hard to keep my socializing to close friends and family at the moment so I don't have to explain why I'm not eating or taking my own food.
Anyways, you are doing awesome.....just keep right on going now!

    Good job Jogger!
I got a little side tracked last week and over the weekend. I'm back to the plan this week. I have missed these posts and the motivation.

It's hard to do a diet when your family is skinny and can get away with eating nearly anything... Stay strong!

PS. Do you post two tickers on purpose?

Oh Jogger......I'm so sorry for what you and your family are going through. You certainly have enough to focus on at the moment but just remember, we are all here to suport each other in any way we can.

Prayers and positive energy coming your way.

Well unfortunately I'm just back from two weeks of visiting my brother in hospital and burying him on monday. During that time I went off the low carb and ate uncontrollably. I have gained above my starting weight, I'm now 208lbs but I will start again from tomorrow and hope to conquer this. I am sad now but will be a lot worse if I get fatter. So maybe I can hit my target weight in memory of my brother who lost his battle with lung cancer last week, over weight is bad, smoking is a lot worse.

Jogger, i am sorry I missed your earlier arrival. I am so sorry about your brother. It is hard to lose someone close and your life goes haywire for a while. It is good to do this in his memory, by keeping the knowledge that he could have changed his life and that you are now changing your life, close to your heart. I am sure he would be the first in line to cheer you on. There will be hard days ahead, remember this forum and use it however you need it. We are friendly and will be glad to listen. Welcome to the rest of your healthy life.

Ps, they have changed the tickers so they only work the first time you post on a page. When this flips to page two, your ticker will show on the first post you make there. They are saving server space that way.
