    a little help

I am a 56 yr old female on Atkins diet. I am starting wk 2 of induction. I lost 3 lbs the first week. Is this normal or should I have expected to see more. I have been very strict and have kept the carbs at 20 or below.
Just looking for a little support.
    thanks

Give us a menu and we can see what you are eating. Sometimes we think we are following atkins correctly and find we arent. Good luck!

    typical menu:
breakfast:2 egg omlette with cheddar and salsa, 2 sausage links
lunch: hamburger pattie with lettuce/tom a little mayo
dinner: romaine lettuce, chopped yellow squash, black olives, radishes, with 1 grilled chicken breast sliced on top and Walden Farms dressing (0 carbs)
snack: is usually celery with laughing cow cheese twice a day
I hope you have some suggestions. I can do this!!!
    thanks

Some may not agree and every body is different so this is my two cents on this. I for one cannot eat and lose with salsa and tomatoes. I even have to watch my cheese. Also that doesnt look like alot of food. Are you full when you eat like this? I eat alot! Maybe someone else can come and and suggest stuff. Plus you dont have alot to lose at all so it will come off very very slowly. I lose about 1-2 pounds a week. Im not looking for a quick weightloss cause Im eating like this the rest of my life so if it takes longer that is ok with me cause it will stay off that way plus Im never hungry. Good luck!

    Hi and Welcome

I'm on day 13 of induction and so far have only lost 4-5lbs ( won't be sure till tomorrow,) so to me you sound like you're right on track. I'm still learning alot myself but I would be making sure that there is no sugar in your salsa and no filler or sugar in your sausages. I was shopping for some sausages the other day and couldn't find a single brand that had neither one or the other ( mind you I live in Canada). Also some of those little processed cheeses are not necessarily good but I don't know about that particular brand.

    Good luck!

I am never hungry. I guess I thought that I would lose more during the induction phase. I am down another lb today from 2 days ago, so I'm losing 1/2 lb/day. I'll take that! I know I need to drink water. I've only been drinking cafiene free crystal light tea or crytal light lemonade.
I check the carbs on every package. 3 links is a serving of Jimmy Dean sausage: less than 1g of sugar and 2 carbs.
As a side note: I tried Medifast and couldn't take the bland diet. Prepackaged bars, pancakes, eggs, shakes. I'd rather eat real food, thank you.
Thank you very much for your input!!

I think you are doing very well with the weight you have to lose. You are not eating a starvation diet, and if you are religiously counting your carbs, then you are losing what you should be losing. Each of is is different, each will lose in different speeds. Yes, water is so important, and don't forget your salt!
My name is Arlene and I am happy for each ounce gone and a normal fasting glucose reading. I have decided to eat real food, keep the carbs very low (20 to 30gpd) and live for saturated fat.
