    Hi Clare
That is awesome! I am on day 7 and have only lost about 1.5lbs. I'm not finding it hard but I have to admit I was hoping for a bit more. Anyways, I'm hard at it as I have a very very long road ahead. I am happy that I found this site as it is full of inspiration and motivation and really great people who understand. You should be proud of yourself. Well Done!

Clare, congrats on your wonderful start! Now the headache is gone, the weight loss will steady and you will start to feel full of life again! Be sure to drink lots of water, you will be thirsty for a while, but that eases off. Even then, water is needed all day. I look forward to watching your progress.

Clare I have a long way to go as well, would like to lose about 125lbs. I have decided this is the only way for me to go. It's easy, makes sense and it works. Besides, the support here is wonderful how can we go wrong! Good luck and we'll stay in touch!

Hiya Arlene, i noticed i was more thirsty and iv replaced late night eating with a big pint of water )
look forward to hearing your updates too allie, its now day 10 for me and im feeling good still. A old friend of mine surprised me with a visit last night with some beers and i had NONE! :O) I feel so empowered that iv finally found the strength and will power to keep this up so long and it feels so easy now too.
My 5 years old son is prob carb semsitive too, he is a broad build as i was as a child and now i no what its like to be over weight i definately dont want that for him so banning things like bread and pasta FOREVER i think would also benefit him and hopfully i can give him some better eating habits ) cant wait for my nxt weight in on monday!!!
Anyway iv chatted on enough! Ha

Thats wonderful that you consider your sons health in your plan. My sister-in law is a "large lovely" and I think because her parents always nattered at her about it she feels that she will never do that to her kids. My niece and nephew are getting very heavy and I really worry about their health but she will not deny them anything. She isn't doing them any favours. I know how hard it is to say no but sometimes you have to take the "right" road and clearly you are doing that. Congrats! I'm glad things are going well for you and well done on the "no beers" I know that's a hard one...the social activities that is because there always seems to be food and drinks involved.
    Cheers....with water...to you

Kids need to hear no from their parents... the rest of the world is going to say no to them a lot, they learn how to accept "no" and deal with it by having parents who taught them how. It's not "mean" to say no, it's... real life. People were often startled at how quickly my sons accepted it when I said no to something. I would say, what part of no don't you understand, the N or the O? LOL The key is to not wobble... don't be wishy-washy and once you say no, don't change your mind. So be VERY sure when you say no that YOU mean it.

I love this line: Give your children everything they need and little of what they want. Oh, works on husbands, too.

Wonderful Tril! Great advice and a laugh included! Well delivered.
I see that with my grandsons. I have noticd that since I have been gently talking to my daughter that she is trying to replace the morning cereal for my grandsons with bacon, eggs, cheese or peanut butter and not grapes but nuts for snacks. It really helps them last in class until lunch without meltdowns. If you don't fix the foods that can cause a carb problem, then your son will get used to eating that way. Good for you, Clara! I just so wish I had known all this when my girls were growing up. But they both are doing well, and the grandkids are healthy, not due to the stuff I used to feed my girls growing up!

I decided to cut my salads down to every other day at the most just to give my weight loss a push. I made an awesome seafood dish yesterday with salmon, prawns, butter, cream, curry, a touch of splenda and it was sooooo good.

Have a great day Clare....I'm running off to work now!
