    Low Blood Sugar

I have been on the induction phase 4 weeks this Friday. I went for a run last week and was a little nauseous but no big deal. Yesterday I went for another run about 2.5 miles at the gym and when I finished I felt REALLY sick. It stayed with me all day even though I drank plenty of water and had snacks and my dinner. Last night before going to bed I was still feeling the same but tried to shake it off and fall asleep. I woke up at around 6:00 a.m., and I felt horrible. I was having cold sweats, was super nauseous and my hands were shaking uncontrollably. I went to the bathroom to see if I would throw-up but didn't so I got into the shower and as I did I almost fainted. I jumped out and got on the floor with my feet elevated. I was able to make it back to bed but felt like a truck had run over my body. I asked my husband to bring me something sweet from the kitchen (felt like my blood sugar was too low) so he grabbed me 4 skittles and I ate them went back to bed and I felt better. Has anyone had this type of experience? I think it had to do with my run but not sure if its something else.

Are you eating something small before and after your runs? I am hypoglycemic, and have found that a little bit of protien before and after strenuous excercize stops me from getting all wonky.

I am having 25-30 gms of carbs. I had some string cheese 30 min prior and a protein shake (Atkins) after my workout

Go here and read, http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=87 if needed join the forum and ask. These are exercisers on LC and will have advice. I was very low energy working out for about three weeks then finally stablized. Good luck.
