    Salad Dressings and Sources

Hi, I've been doing Atkins for three days now and already lost 2.5lbs after one day! Yeah! The only thing I'm confused about is salad dressings and sources. It said in the Atkins book and website, that I can only have thoes that contain no sugar, unless I misunderstood. I can't find any that contain no sugar, so I've been doing without mayo and ceaser. But everyone else on Atkins seems to be having may! Am I allowed low carb sources and dressings that are low in sugar? Or is there a secret brand I don't yet know about?

    Thank you!

You can have dressing. WishBone ranch = 1.0g carbs per 2 tbs. WishBone Blue Cheese = 2.0g carbs per 2tbs. Vinaigrette = 1 g
My favorite is Ken's Steak House. Try the Northern Italian with basil & romano (1g per 2tbs)

Look for dressings without ADDED sugars. Sweet dressings like Thousand Island and Catalina are out. Most of the vinaigrette and oil based dressing can work. Just count the carbs toward your daily total. Be mindful of the serving size, though... 2 (level) TBS isn't a lot. You can also make your own and it's very easy.

I also Love flavored olive oils on my salads. No sugar there!
I am Arlene and Dr Mary Vernon says it best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaquSijXJkQ for me. I used to stand under my plum tree waiting for the fruit to ripen and fall, now I stand near a coconut tree.

Also, if there is a Smith's or Kroger grocery store near you, their store brand greek dressing is carb free and pretty good.

Today at Alberton's I found some wonderful balsamic vinaigrette. It's made by Walden Farms and it's sugar free and carb free.

I love Walden farms! I am going to have to go look at our Albertsons. The only place I have found Walden farms is at our health food store. They make a mean carb sugar free choco syrup.
