Four Pound Weight Gain in 5 days!

I'm so depressed. I've been eating, as I should, with the exception of one very smal bite of fudge. I don't think that is it. In the past I've had a small bite of something and it hasn't caused a gain. It's been day's ago, anyway.

It has been raining and very humid for 8 days straight. I have been known to gain when the weather is like this. My finger's are swollen. I feel huge. But my clothes are still loose. Getting on the scale, I keep looking for my weight to drop down. It should be with what I am doing. I'm drinking at least, 64 oz of water a day. Has the weather affected anyone else? Our body is make up of a lot of water, but this is ridiculous. I don't feel like cheating. Just sad.

I did have to use some pain meds for a condition I have for several days, and I am lowering my dose on some other meds. Reading the book, I know medication's can make it harder. But, didn't think it would allow a 4 lb weight gain which stays and stays. Not when I'd been losing before.

Any suggestions? Has anyone else experienced gaining during a humid, rainy time? If this weather would get cold, like it is supposed to be at this time, I would feel better.

Thank you! I wish you all a good day!

I have heard this and also read about it. Dont fret. If you are following what you should be eating it is probably the weather and your meds. Just focus on when the scale moves and it will and then you will be so happy. The scale is just numbers and really are not accurate all the time. How much have you lost so far and when did you start.

If you can... get some exercise. And reduce your sodium intake (eat fresh, nothing from cans or processed). If you have a heart condition... call your doc. Fluid retention is not good in that case.

    Thank you to all!

My weight is coming down. Two pounds as of now. I'd lost three, but it has been raining and humid yesterday and today. Went up one today and can't get wedding band on. So, I do know this is playing a big part in the gain.

I do drink tons of water. My meals are exactly as they should be. I don't eat canned foods. I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. I exercised Monday, and my pain was much worse after. There is a delicate balance with having both and doing exercise. I have taken care of our 2 1/2 year old grandson, two days this week and decorated for Christmas. Take time and rest and get up and start again.

Thank you, Tril, Cheryl and Happy, for responding! Supposedly we've had a 'cold front' which usually helps. But, still no let up on rain nor humidity! We live in Indiana, not the rain forest! LOL

    Happy Holidays!

So sorry to hear you're dealing with Fibro AND CF. Do what you need to do to take care of yourself... be gentle. You do NOT have to exercise to lose weight. Do what you can within reason. Slow and steady wins the race, right? Hope you lose that water weight soon. I hate that feeling.

Thank you Tril. I feel fortunate I am still able to do more than many other's who have Fibro and CF. Sometime's my body just like's to try and bully me! I appreciate your empathy! Yes, feeling bloated is one big YUK!! Take care!
