    Day 1

Hey my name is Ross I'm 22 and never really been a diet guy but started atkins today seems easy just keep carbs under 20g but i can see this getting harder mainly cause I love bread. I am 5.9 and use to be 265 may 2010 then cut down to 200 may 2011 no diet just went gym a few times a week, but now I have shot back up to 220. I know i should be doing this in the induction category but I am looking to upload photos of me at my starting weight and every week update my weight and every 2 weeks update a photo to see the physical difference. Week 1 I weighed myself today and have lost 10 lbs! which is the most I ever lost in a week!. It was hard for me even on the first day so I just kinda stuck to the same meal pattern each day to make it easier on me. For breakfast I had eggs, tomatoes, and avacardo for lunch I would have chicken, tuna or tofu salad depending how i felt that day and for dinner anything fatty like pork chops, steak, lamb etc with avacardo salad and drink 8 glasses of water a day. I also went gym 5 days a week doing up to 40 minutes of exercise not too much cause im starting to get more tired without eating carbs and I am getting really bad headaches and terrible breath is this common?

well done chopper, thats a great start!. i too have lost a lot in my first week, i dont know if i would put myself through all that gym work though! i have done a lot of walking which does not sap your energy as much. Headaches should disappear soon, mine lasted 3 or 4 days but feel fine now. bad breath, more water and chew a littlie fresh parsley.

Hurrah Chopper! It is so much fun to see that huge loss after the first week. The first week is the hardest. The headaches and tiredness will get a lot better. Sometimes if I am loosing a lot on one day, the next day I wake up with a slight headache that goes away when I drink water. The tiredness when exercising hard and for an extended time, can catch you by surprise. Be sure to eat before you do anything for an extended period and maybe even bring a snack to eat in the middle while chugging water.

Its whey protein Isolate for recovery cause I've been feeling really tired after working out and feel I need it for muscle recovery. No milk just water and give a few shakes. (Not a meal replacement)

Is splenda ok on atkins? And also in 3 weeks its my fathers birthday and he always loves going for a curry, is it ok to have one bad day? If not anyone know anything low carb on the menu?

Splenda is okay on Atkins but each little packet is one carb because of the fillers. You can get the big bag of Splenda that is lower in carbs. Liquid stevia is the best, I have heard. I am going to get some of that soon. As far as curry, I don't see why if you eat the meat and veges and not the bread, you should be okay. And it is just of a special day.
