Hi Aradasky!! I would love to have friends here cause it helps with the support and motivation and keeping honest. I joined another forum but you have to get accepted before posting and its been days and I havent heard anything so I found this site and got accepted right away!! It seems everything right now is quiet. Possibly cause of the kids going back to school? I hope so cause I like movement!! Lets gets these threads movin. lol

I tend to eat the same meals every day. I brown up hamb meat with black beans and salsa, taco seasoning and can have either a taco salad with shredded lettuce and cheese or chili. I hate cooking. I hate prepping. Im a grab and go kind of gal.

Do you have any tips? It was nice to meet you.

Hi Cheryl, call me Arlene. LOL
It is quiet here and there are other more busy sites but while I go to one in particular to read all the success stories, answers to some questions and to enter a challenge, I like it here, too. There, if you enter a thread and start up a conversation, some will come back and say hi, but your comment soon gets lost in the huge shuffle. I also like the admin and experienced replies we get here, promptly.

I can eat the same thing too. I have bacon or sausage and eggs every morning, try to fit in a salad for lunch with meat, and then veges and meat for dinner. Since I am on Atkins, I won't mix beans in until much later, but your salad sound yummy. I like to use a crockpot and make a big amount of food, to use for left overs for lunches and dinners. Look through the recipes here and see if there are things you, or online in low carb cooking sites.

    Hi Cheryl
Tips - If you hate cooking then keep loads of sliced cooked meat all the time in the fridge so that you can snack. When you do cook, do things like a whole large roast chicken so it is easy to cook and so that you have loads of leftovers.
I think V8 juice will be very high in carbs - have you checked?
Are you doing Atkins or your own low carb? If the latter, what carb limit are you setting yourself? Most people on here do Atkins but I don't, I prefer my own setup after reading the science behind the diet.

Hi Arlene and FlorayG!!! To tell you the truth right now I am taking in slow. I am eliminating alot of garbage I have been eating. Right now Im not counting carbs. I will check what V-8 juice is. I am not doing total Atkins. But am going to do total Atkins shortly. Baby steps. I have eliminating pop. Bread. Candy. Im not eating all day long. No more chips, cookies. I started on tuesday at 236.6 and I feel lighter but I snuck on the scale this morning and havent lost a pound. A little disturbing but after hearing about carrots and the V-8 juice that could be my problem. But you would of thought that I would of lost something due to Im not eating like a pig!!! But not going to stop me. Im staying focused and determined. So lets see what happens!!!

Cheryl, I suggest you go online to the Atkins site, read and look at the levels that are available. You could start at the second level and not go into induction yet. It will introduce you to the new way of eating and you will see a weight loss the first week, almost assured. Then when you are ready you could go on induction if you want. You are working so hard and you should be rewarded for your work. It is those pats on our back that keep us going. Also take measurements, no matter how much it hurts because I have learned that if you don't loose pounds you may still be loosing inches. I want you to get that wonderful feeling of the first week of loss.

Thank you!! I dont like playing the scale game. I feel if you know you havent cheated (to me cheating is the pop, candy bread, sugar) you should lose weight. I was just confused that if I feel like I lost weight the scale should go down so now I know the reason. This is a real test for me this week. Very stressful. I would need so many pages to tell you the story and you wouldnt believe it. So I am proud of myself in not turning to food. Food is for fuel not to feed my emotions.

How was your walk? It is so nice to take a break in a park. Good for you. And your stress, hey if you want to talk about it, you can message me. I would not mind hearing about it at all. Sometimes it just feels good to share and it is not so heavy after you do.
I know about the scale. I knew I would obsess and have told myself that I am going to really have to watch myself Wehnau I get home. Once a week, and Only once a week. Lol Yum, I can smell your crockpot!

I think Arelene and I are going to be great friends!! Sad to say its raining here so no walk for me. Had my weekend breakfast 2 fried eggs and sausage. I was thinking on how I can describe how I am eating. Not a diet but eatin what I can live with and still lose weight. Does that make sense? Eating 3 meals a day and plenty of water. Staying away from garbage and not grazing all day. Arlene I will message you and tell you my story. Maybe you can give me some advise. I will when I have time today. Thank you!!

As you said earlier, you have read Atkins many times so you know how to regulate yourself and put your appetite to sleep. You eat and loose weight so it is good for you. Yahoo to you for knowing what to do and doing it!
