Arlene..what do you mean by a normal fasting glucose reading. It it the Keto sticks? What color do you have to have on the stick to say you are losing? Mine is not the deep purple but the dark rose. Is that ok?

Suzy, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes many years ago. I lost 70 lbs and had been able to keep it under control for many years with out meds, but then my weight started creeping back on. I tested my morning, before eating or fasting glucose with a prick on my finger about twice a week. It was creeping up and the Doc told me that I was going to have to go on meds soon. After starting on Atkins, that number fell into the VERY normal range, much to his surprise and my delight and has been normal ever since. He said if I continue this way that he can say that I do not have diabetes anymore. Diabetics used to have the keto sticks as the only way to test glucose. It is a test of what you did yesterday as far as glucose is concerned but now all the updated ways of testing make diabetes control much easier. I don't use the sticks, never have. As long as I am losing,I figure it is all working.
I am Arlene and Dr Mary Vernon says it best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaquSijXJkQ for me. I used to stand under my plum tree waiting for the fruit to ripen and fall, now I stand near a coconut tree.

I am so happy you have that all under control. It runs on my mom's side of the family and I am about 30# over weight and need to take care of it. Quiting smoking was the excuse I had but now over eating is just a bad habit. I love food. Anyway, I'm happy for you. My husband keeps looking at me funny....I can't quit reading!

The early conversions for kindle and Other ebooks (2009) was clumsy at best. It crated a ton of mistakes and if they were not edited out, then they got loaded like that. I did not do the kindle version, a publishing company did. I am having a new version loaded into amazon, it should be there about the 16th. They promised me all those problems would be gone. We shall see! The print version is not like that nor any of the PDF downloads. Sorry! Hope you can see past that, and the punctuation problems that were caused by that version.

Even new books seem to have a problem, look at what you were told about the kindle version of Atkins! Lol. I have seen problems in other books as well.

I am writing another but it is taking a long time. I am not one of those, sit down and write everyday writers. I also love to write poetry and short stories and write those when inspired. I have some on my website www.radasky.com I also recorded The Fox and used some music in that from a great musician who lives in New Zealand. I have been researching my new LC WOL and I have used my extra time and energy doing that. I have learned some new things that I am going to bring into my next book! It takes place in 2500 bc and you know they ate LC! Lol

I enjoy writing poetry as well Arlene and always wanted to write a Children's book. Maybe I'll make that my next project.

    I'll check out your website.

    Enjoy your day!

I have not lost any more weight. I am stuck. Very depressing but I will plod on. As far as The Fox goes, I am getting to a part that is making me very sad.

Suzy, try not to get frustrated that the weight is not coming off. Easy for me to say. My weight moves from me so slowly that I hate the scales with a passion. If you are feeling better and have more energy and your clothes are fitting looser, then all is good. Today is another day and "gift" to be opened with care.

Hope it is a good one! We are family here and care about you and each other.

Sorry for making you sad, Suzy........ Oh, and if you like you can post a few days of what you eat and maybe we can find why you are stalling. It may just be your body readjusting. Or you may not have enough fat or too much protein. Anyway, psot if you like.

I loved loved loved the book, Arlene. Yes, I was sad towards the end but I see there is a little opening for a sequel, maybe finding the daughter??? Hope you are working on that now. I have finally lost another #. When we are here in Alabama for the winter, it is like a 5 month vacation. We golf almost every day with our friends from England that we meet here every year. We also go out to eat at least 3 times a week. I try to order smart and am thankful I am not gaining. To date, I have lost 10 #. Now, I have to start a new book to read and hope after reading The Fox, it will not be a big let down.
