    Simple menu for newbie

I would love to see what the beginning people ate in the first few days. I wish I had a breakfast through dinner and snacks just laid out for me. If you can help me or direct me to some simple meals I woud be so grateful. I promise I will research every post as soon as I get a few minutes.
    Thanks, Vicki

Welcome tch! Here's a link to "How to do Induction"... it's VERY important info.

    http://www.atkins.com/Program/Phase1...tionRight.aspx

Here's a link to the Atkins site for planning your menu. Forwarning... they include their products in the menu planning (of course). Just choose the non-Atkins menu item. The net carbs will be displayed at the bottom of the page for the menu you create. You can print your menu from here, too. And no, you don't need to pay to be a user of this site. This should help you when planning your meals around your own likes and dislikes.

    http://www.atkins.com/TwoWeekMealPlan.aspx

Everything you need to know is on the Atkins site. Do your research there if you're following the Atkins Diet. If you're doing a generic "low carb diet" (making it up as you go), then it's still a great resource. If you join the forums... you'll find me there.

Thank you again. I promise to research all these, but I am reading what I can as fast as I can so that I can get started. Sorry you are having to waste all your time on me. I will be reading all day, but some things i am having a difficult time finding in all the useful info. Good thing I am out of school today and it is rainy and stormy, so no outside work today!

I NEVER consider helping someone get started a waste of time!!!

Just remember, you don't need to learn everything in one day! You'll learn along the way.

    Again thanks,
Maybe someday I will be able to help someone like you. I checked out the website you mentioned and it seems awesome. I will find time to spend more time on it soon. Right now I'm researching everything I can. Thanks for your dedication!

I just love that you're here now and asking questions, doing the research first. We often get people who spend a month or more doing what they think is Atkins (or low carb) and are frustrated at not losing weight. They arrive here all discouraged and negative and we tell them, well... you can't eat fruit or oatmeal. LOL It's too bad to start out with misinformation and waste a whole month... not to mention adding to their sense of failure. Not good when that happens. So I'm happy to help!

I know, too, that in answering YOUR questions you and I are helping someone who is just out there reading but not "talking". So you ARE helping someone, even when you don't know it.

    Aw thanks,
I never thought I would "meet" someone as nice as you on a forum. You have already helped me so much. You will be happy to know that I have been doing my homework. My students will too~! I can already tell that I am going to have an awesome experience here. Mostly because of you. You do an outstanding job! Vicki

Well... unless LLBean is on his way home and he hasn't bought you a birthday gift that day, I don't think so.

I could make up some sort of "anniversary". Be very hurt that he didn't remember the first time we did something special. He might just fall for that. lol. I can be conniving (sp). Not really, I can't even tell him a little white lie, seems like he always knows. Maybe I will try to think of something real! Yeah, that's it~

You should also know... they are the MOST comfortable flip flop ever. I even hiked in a dessert with these. Hey... I was on a business trip and didn't bring sneakers (carry on luggage only). I wasn't going to stay back just for lack of sneakers. Not my first choice for hiking, but I was fine.
