Not fiber supp pills ! try more WATER and MORE fiber, flax seed ground up..like you do coffee beans..and water, add it to your foods and see the difference in about 10 days, it takes time to work. If this doesn't help I suggest you see your Doctor and discuss it with him/her.

    To Lowcarbdieter,
I think I may know what may be causing your issues with constipation. You say you drink tons of green tea. Green tea is known to cause constipation. Low carb dieting does as well. Cut way back on the green tea, and see the improvement. I was recently on the 17 day diet- very popular here is the U.S. The diet included at least 3 cups of green tea per day. Scores of people were complaining about constipation. The author- a doctor, advised to cut back or eliminate the green tea. This made a big difference for many people- including me.
Adding complex carbs back in, such as fruits and vegetables high in fiber also will help. We need those in our diets. It is the simple carbs like sugar, white flour, white rice, etc...that we should avoid. Taking psyllium husk capsules or powder is also helpful. Stay away from laxatives. They do more harm than good. Good luck to you!

I know this is an older post, but just in case someone takes a look..... I have IBS. I had been eating alot of raw veggies. When I asked a dietician, she told me eat cooked vegetables. They will pass through faster, and not cause the bloating and constipation I had experienced.

Also, make sure you are getting enough Magnesium in your diet. Calcium cannot be absorbed unless you get at least half as much magnesium as you get calcium... A lack in this mineral will cause constipation. Most women in America are deficient in magnesium. I make sure I get enough by taking one or two tablets a day... and if I take it, I have absolutely no problem with constipation.
