    Hi, all
Well, it's my one year anniversery with Atkins. WooHoo!! 46.5 pounds gone, and never a hunger pang or a feeling of deprivation. Unfortunately, from Christmas Eve right through New Year's Eve, I decided to enjoy the Holidays, and on Jan. 1, I got on the scale to a 13 lb. increase!!! Curses, foiled again!! It took the whole month of January to lose that weight and another 1.5 lbs. Well, I guess I wasted a month, but I'll tell ya, that eggnog, port and Christmas cookies put some smiles on my face! The important thing is, there are always Holidays, Anniverseries and special occasions that get in our way. Some we can work around, and some we can't. We just need to stay the course. Eventually, we can all reach our goal of a slimmer, healthier life while still enjoying life!
    Best to all
    Joe

Glad you enjoyed your holidays and I don't feel that once we have made this our lifestyle, that it hurts too much to blow it once in awhile. Especially when we know we are coming right back. You obviously did that and are still heading downward. Awesome!!
I have a family reunion to go to in early July and I know I'll likely be breaking a number of rules while I'm there and while I'll try to make good choices, I will not beat myself up over whatever I blow.
    Good luck on your path

YEA Joe! You have the frame of mind that I will adopt when I hit my goal! I firmly believe that I will eat this way, even after straying, I also strayed a bit over Christmas, and came back. Some can't do that, for some the call of the carbs are too strong. I also applaude them for not straying.

And 14.5 lbs lost in a month? I would not call that wasted! What is our goal? To be the first to lose so much weight or to live a much healthier way? However, as I said before we are human and will be tempted. FOR ME it willbe okay to give in a bit once an a while, but 99% of the time, is LC forever!!!

Thank you so much for coming back and showing us it can be done!

Congratulations Joe on getting back on track and losing that extra weight so quickly. You are indeed an example to everyone here that this is indeed possible and a lifestyle change we can certainly live with and enjoy for a lifetime.
Keep us posted on how you are doing.
