    Daily Movement/Exercise Support Thread

I find I need to pay extra attention to taking good care of myself during the holiday season. If anyone else would like to post what you are doing to enjoy moving the next while, I'd enjoy your company.

Today, it's too cold and sleety to indulge in my usual walk, so extra rebounding (jumping on a mini-trampoline) and more of my exercises. I do several sequences of exertion and rest, combining Callanetics, yoga poses, ballet stretches and exercises, and whatever strikes my fancy at the moment.

Here's a set of yoga exercises for elderly folks I've enjoyed using. I like inserting these in between my Callanetics exercises.

Sending you all best wishes this afternoon.
Maintenance WOE: ruminant meats and fat, egg yolks, chicken liver, fish, butter/cream, herbs/vegetables, water/tea. Carbs under 20.

We have, however, in the first place, the need for a strength of character and will power such as will make us use the things our bodies require rather than only the foods we like.

Tril, that sounds strenuous. Hope your work lasts for awhile.

This morning's exercises: rebounding and ballet warm-ups. Will do Callanetics and stretches later, with more rebounding.

Sending you all best wishes for a lovely day.

I have added some stretches from the world of yoga to my exercises, as they help loosen up and smooth the stiffness and creakiness that comes with getting older.

In case someone else would find these useful, here are a few links.

Here are two series which have poses/stretches that are easy to do:

and I use several of the resources at Yogatic. Here is a nice sitting stretch for neck and side:

The weather is warm and clear enough to walk outside today, which will be nice. Callanetics, ballet exercises and rebounding on the schedule, too.

Sending you all best wishes for a very nice day.
