Awesome picture Odille. Absolutely beautiful! I have thought of joining a Red Hat group but never got around to it. I have some friends who belong to different chapters and have a real good time.

Congratulations on your progress here and keep on keepin' on.

When I left the pool today after my swim, the lovely lady at the front desk said "Gee, you have lost weight. You look quite slender."

Slender!!!! I nearly jumped over the desk to kiss her!

I floated out and off to the car, I swear!

    Slender . . . .

(I think she must need new glasses.)

What a lovely compliment! Enjoy it and play it over and over. You obviously DO look "slender" and you got noticed.

So happy for you and NO, this lady does NOT need glasses.

I can just see you "floating" towards your car!

I am looking forward to the summer when I can swim again every day. I also love gardening and hopefully this unwanted weight will come off over the summer months.

    Have a great day ALL!

We have our own Red Hat group here! Cheers to all of us on the right path and Odille, yahhoo for your wonderful compliment! I would certainly tell that lady how she made you feel Getting that feedback is a plus for her, too!
I am Arlene and Dr Mary Vernon says it best http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaquSijXJkQ for me. I used to stand under my plum tree waiting for the fruit to ripen and fall, now I stand near a coconut tree.

How true Arlene. We are just like a RED HAT SOCIETY here on this forum! So glad I found it!

I agree Odille that you should tell that lady how wonderful she made you feel. That would "make her day" as well!

    Have a great wee-end.

Thanks, Jo & Arlene. It is wet an windy here, and of course humid and sticky with it. The upside is not so many people go to the pool (wimps) so I got my 30 morning laps one in peace an tranquillity. Going back later with Warwick for another 20 or so. He doesn't do early at the 'wee-end' as he starts work every day at 2.30 am and says the weekend is for sleep ins! Who am I to argue?

Tomorrow is the start of my 4 week experiment into absolutely no:
    Grains
    dairy
    Caffeine
    Alcohol

    I will be reporting regularly!

Odille, Great, we can be self guinea pigs together!

I will not give up my coffee and cheese however, but will try to go without at least one or two lunches per week over the next month. I circled this date in red.

Good luck to both of us!

I slept in this morning, a very rare event - not up till after 6am! Did my 30 laps on a glass of water (I am really going to miss my one real coffee of the day, the wake up one) and breakfast (at 11am) was melon, raspberries & a few grapes then 100g steak on the BBQ, mushrooms cooked in lard and 1/2 a small avocado.

Wow Odille, no dairy? That's what keeps me hanging on. I've given up the grains totally, starch totally, sugar totally, fruit totally, and caffeine, veggies and alcohol are pretty low, but dairy is through the roof.

I have to tell you again how lovely your picture is, both you and Arlene project such happiness, contentment and serenity in your avatar pictures. It's stunning
