    Thanks, guys!

Tracy... I can't eat that many calories and lose. I still want to take off 10# or so. At my height/weight, my maintenance (that's maintenance) level is 1450 calories a day. 1500 would put me over that... it's one of the realities of weighing less. You HAVE to eat less. Weighing less also means that exercise burns way fewer calories. "They" say to eat 500 calories less per day and burn up 500 calories a day with exercise... that will produce a 2 pound loss per week. Uh... that would mean a caloric intake of 950 and a 5 mile walk every day. Which brings us to the "the last 10 are harder to lose" statement.... and that losing 1/2# a week at the end is normal. To lose 1/2-1# a week I need to eat about 250 fewer calories and walk 2.5 miles a day. That's about 1200 calories... All that to say, no way can I eat 1500 calories and lose unless I'm willing to go to a boot camp. Which I'm not. LOL

I'll agree with one thing, yesterday I ate very little. I didn't do it on purpose, I ate to my hunger. Cutting out the nuts and reducing the cheese reduced my calories, too.

And, I disagree on the fat. I AM getting fat every time I eat. I had mayo, the fat in the egg and butter with b'fast, mayo with snack, mayo and fish fat with lunch, mayo in my afternoon snack, and fat from my protein and salad dressing with dinner. Dr. Atkins recommended one TBS as a fat serving. I had at least that each and every time I ate. If I add more fat then I have to reduce something else... which only leaves protein. I'm not eating excessive protein. I eat just eggs for b'fast... no extra meat there. I just don't see where I could reduce the protein comfortably.

Anyway... wt this morning: 130.5 with flashes of 130.0. But it settled on 130.5 every time. I think I have that one locked in.

The sun is actually up this morning and I can SEE it! It sure would be nice to get a sunny day. I think it might the be 5th one this summer. I'm SO SICK of everything being wet and clammy.

Sounds like you have a realistic view of what is going on Tril - as far as getting the rest of the weight off - and even how to maintain. The problem is to just "rest" with where you are....be happy that you made it to that point and enjoy the journey instead of wanting to rush to the destination and miss so much along the way......easier said than done, I know.

There really is no rush to get that last ten pounds off - right? The bottom line is you are living healthier - looking great where you are now - you have a focus - and you know that you are going to feel better and better with each pound that you lose.....it's like having a special treat with each of those last 1/10th of pounds that come off!!

Just giving an optimistic spin to the place you find yourself!!

Not rushing... but the final push is on. I've been this weight since this time last year. I think that's a long enough "rest", don't you? I'm tired of being here. It's no longer "ok" with me. It's good... but not good enough. So I'm taking the bull by the horns and making him go where I want to go... and taking no prisoners. I'm determined now.

If it is to be, it is up to me.

ok...your right if it has been a year....sorry I did not realize that...guess I had better reread your journal....might take me a few hours with 30 some pages!!!!

Well, be gentle with the bull.....those horns can turn and do some major damage to your backside if you are not careful!!

I went back and looked up my post for July 28th, 2008... and I quote,

"Day 62, wt 130.5. Today is my two month weigh in. I have lost 13# in 62 days. That's slightly over 1/2 of what I want to lose. So I'm halfway there!!! 12 or so to go."

TO THE DAY my weight is exactly the same. How eerie is that?!? Do do do do...

The "Groundhog Day" comment was funny!

I know about that slowing down to 1/2 lb. per week. As long as one expects it AND as long as, over time, it is consistent, it's not too discouraging.

It is the stalls that drive us crazy. I'm playing with 133-134 and every .2 pounds in between. I expect it could go on for 2-3 weeks. As long as I expect it, I can handle it. If it lasts TOO long I get mad at "something" - not sure what. I don't cheat per se, so like you it is hard to pinpoint what it is.

Eventually, I truly believe, we will get our success!!! Wishing you the best ...

    Are you ready???

    129.5!!!

    :P :P :P

I'm thrilled. It's been awhile since I've seen that "2". I like it. LOL

Yesterday was a grazing day. Lots of water, lots of veggies... had one ounce of cheddar and one TBS of nat pnb, too.

    Full steam ahead!
