    Loose Skin

I had lost 60 + lbs on Atkins about 4 years ago after a long fight with childhood obesity. My stomach was initially pretty saggy, not horrible, but certainly not what I wanted as an 18 year old guy. After years of training, my stomach is still sagging. I estimate I still have about 3 inches of skin tliterally hanging down to my groin area.

As a result, I'm young good looking guy who fears being shirtless in public and in bed with new women. On the outside, I look great-5'9 174-but when I take my clothes off my body looks like a swampy mess. I've decided its time to start seriously considering a tummy tuck. Can you please share your experience? Interesting in hearing about the medical, financial and any other pointers you would like to share.

    Thanks!

    Hi ipsectl,

I have a similar problem, but not a solution. Let us know what you find out. I've considered plastic surgery also, but on my underarms instead of my tummy.

you have some options, the first is surgery or laser reconstruction, the second is tightening body wraps and maybe some endermologie

Yes, but OP is 18 years old... Or was, two years ago when he made this topic.

We are not talking about aging here, but excess skin remaining after rapid weightloss. A very different phenomenon.

well, that is one signs of aging. you can never prevent that but you can still get back it in a normal condition if you would like to undergo with a surgery. but think about about it because some surgery are dangerous.

At 20-21 I seriously doubt it would be a sign of aging, really...

I have seen documetaries of this type of surgery after weight loss. The skin looses its ability to shrink after it has stretched so much and may need to be removed by plastic surgery. I have no idea how expensive it is, I think more expensive in Hollywood than say, Omaha.... LOL But doctors with a good reputations, for several opinions would be able to get you on the right track.

I have some skin that will be loose, due to age (62) and weight loss, but at this time I am not thinking about surgery.... but who knows?

Congratulations for having lost the weight and keeping it off! Now on with you, you have some research to do. Keep us posted!
My name is Arlene and I am happy for each ounce gone and a normal fasting glucose reading. I have decided to eat real food, keep the carbs very low (20 to 30gpd) and live for saturated fat.

I used to stand under my plum tree waiting for the fruit to ripen and fall, now I stand near a coconut tree.
