Hello everyone,
First post here so if it's in the wrong forum or something feel free to move it.
I am looking into this diet as it seems to produce good results and a more interesting food choice than most.
I don't plan to take part for a while but i'm just wanting to gather some information from people, rather than google searches and articles for now.
My first problem..
I enjoy going for a drink with friends...i completely realise beer and things will be out of the question, but is there any alcohol you can freely drink without problems?

Do you want the "empty calories" lecture or the "Atkins rung line" or the "Just total carbs count" line? They differ, but I can predict ahead of time the folks support or decry the above:
1) FACT: ALL alcohol, regardless of carb count is HIGH in calories, about 100 per toss) and REGARDLESS of the plan, they are calories you CAN totally do without! [Remember this fact when you are really close to goal and...stall!]
2) ATKINS RUNG: Not sure they are even allowed today. In the "olden days" they were recommended as limited BUT allowed in pre-maintenance choices which included regular white bread.
3) JUST TOTAL CARBS COUNT: Changed GREATLY from the 60's /70's which allowed 60 grahams of TOTAL CARBS (no subtraction of fiber.) Those days did NOT differentiate from a white flour bread and a triple-serving of veggies. WE now know better.
