I have always suffered with constipation and IBS so when I started Atkins I was told "you're being silly, you'll make your problems even worse! Atkins causes constipation ... "

Anyway I've been taking medication for my problem for months and still had ongoing problems. But then I discovered Flax. I make cereal with it and put it in protein shakes etc and for the first time in around 3 years ... I'm able to STOP using medication and my bowels are working NATURALLY.

So could it really be that Atkins has IMPROVED my IBS problem?

LOL, not Atkins. Atkins indeed IS conducive to constipation.

What helped you was flax. It's truly one of nature's little miracles.

For your IBS problem (or any gastrointestinal irritations), you should take a tablespoon of whole seeds, boil it in a pint (well a bit less; after it boils out, you should end up with a mugful of the semi-liquid gel) of water on low heat for a while, until it forms a loose flowing gel. Wait for it to cool down until it's just warm, strain through a sieve and drink the gel. Do it on an empty stomach every morning - in a couple of months your IBS should be gone.

The flax gel has coating and soothing properties for all your gastrointestinal lining. It even cures minor inflammations. It's not tasty (although not foul, etiher - just sort of tasteless), but if it is to work, you can't really flavor it with anything. And you have to remember to drink it on empty stomach, first thing in the morning.
