Hi Everyone,
I wanted to join this group for support since I don't have the Atkins book and am currently living and working on a research boat at sea for five weeks straight. This means that I have limited control over what I can eat: I walk into the galley for every meal and have to make quick decisions on what I should or shouldn't have. The fact that there is an all-you-can-eat buffet in front of me three times a day means I need HELP staying on track, so I've decided to start induction. I've been on it for about five days now and feel slightly slimmer, but I think I've been doing a few things wrong. I've been using powdered non-dairy creamer in my coffee, which I decided to stop today. A lot of the meats we have on board are processed types (lunch meats, sausages, etc), which I initially thought were 100% okay but now I'm realizing I should eat them more sparingly. It's also tricky because many of the meat entrees are cooked with mystery sauces and unknown carb contents. I usually go for the most straightforward dish and avoid things like stir fries, bbqs, etc, which probably have some type of sugar in them. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and that I'll be back for more questions and updates. I don't have a scale on board but I do have a tape measure...I measured myself at the beginning and will wait until my last day here (April 1st) to measure again. I always appreciate any ideas you guys may have!
Good luck everyone and thanks for listening! |

you're doing great so far!!! ust do the best you can - will always be an improvement on the old way of eating right?? make sure you get your veggies and water, and if you bloat out a bit from the sausage/processed meat, don't panic - they ahve lots of sodium. also - id count each sausage as 1 gram if they're small, and 3 if they're the big ones. well done on the powdered creamer - often they have nasty carby fillers.
get enough fat too - or you'll feel quite hungry...
good luck - you'll be fine! keep us posted!
