It is rare, but possible - some people have an adverse reaction to aspartame. Others are even worse off, because just tasting sweet causes reactions similar to those real sugar would cause (it's a complicated chain reaction, but in a nutshell, when you taste sweet, your body is "expecting" glucose, so it prepares in advance and the entire metabolic rocess goes slightly differently).
So yes, it's possible.
If the cheese stalls you, it's either it constipates you and you retain water, or it could be you are lactose intolerant. Eliminate all lactose - cheese, cream, butter - for two-three weeks and see what happens. |

A tiny tad of diet jelly shouldn't stall you, I am thinking.
You didn't mention the portion size. Like one TEASPOON (which is 1/3 of a TABLESPOON) makes a huge difference.
And cheese? Was never a problem for me, other than what was mentioned before.
Are you sure there is nothing else?
