You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."
ha ha - do you have a donkey?????
neighbours - that would be great (you cook goood stuff! - and we could play in the snow together!)

No donkey but I've got a fat ass... does that count? Nah, you'd never covet THAT. LOL
Going to look at one more house tomorrow afternoon. I'm getting sick of this. I just want it over!!!!! But I DO like looking at houses. Shhhh! Our agent asked me if I was going into real estate after we finally get into a house... heck, if he offered me a job, I'd take it!
Getting ready to go to CA this weekend. I do NOT want to go. I feel absolutely huge. I'm not very happy about this right now. Sigh... |

LOL, yes... someone IS home. Me. I'm just a lurker these days. Life has gotten rather busy... and I'm experimenting with my food so I haven't been as "into" this forum as before. But I'm still reading because you guys are my BUDS.
The trip to CA was okay. We did it. We got home. Yeah. Of course, I gained even more weight. Sigh.... but since getting home I've lost it and some more. I'm determined. I leave again for a 2 week cruise a week from tomorrow. I won't be able to lose enough to fit into my favorite cruising clothes... but at least my regular fat clothes stuff will fit better. I can breathe in my jeans at least.
On the house front... we're under contract!!!! We're buying a log home. 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1900 sf. Sits nicely on a hill... with access to a stream (the neighborhood is on the stream, our house is in the neighborhood) that has great bass and brown trout fishing. The dogs will love being able to swim every day (til it freezes). Once it's ours, I'll post a picture.
So... if all goes well, when I get back I'll have about 10 days before we close.

I would love a nice log home. My wifes is not as into them as I though. I have been mostly a lurker as well but noticed you had not checked-in in a while so I thought I would ring the bell.
Hope the log home works out for you, although we have never met in person everything I know about you up until now says your a Log Home type of girl. Have fun on that cruise. |

A log home type of girl? I guess I am! DH has always loved them... me, not my first pick but if it's the right one I'm good with it. This is the right one. We both like this house. It will be different, that's for sure. We'll see how I like cathedral ceilings and an open floor plan. I'm just SO OVER ready to have my own space again. Living in a house that's on the market is like living in someone else's house... living in my FIL's 200 yo farmhouse is like living in Siberia. I want my own space and my own stuff before I GO NUTS. Actually... what I really want... is a bureau again. I miss having my clothes in a drawer. Boxes scattered between the barn, the garage, the storage units and the attic have gotten REALLY old. And it will be nice to get out of my dh's childhood bedroom (6' X 10'... holds one full size bed and nothing else) that's right off the livingroom. It's also the room my MIL died in. Yeah... I want out.
One more month... one more month... one more month... |

200 Year old Farmhouse living in the room that someone died in...ACKK!!! No way, sounds to much like the scene setup for a horror flick. |

Hi everyone!!! Been gone for two weeks on a cruise with my mom... back now and starting to pack. We close on our house on the 31st!!! Between the stress and the cruise my "diet" has gone out the window. Hoping to get moved and then have the time and energy to concentrate on ME again.
Hope all is well with everyone here!

Why can't I remember to weigh myself??? I had every intention of getting on the scale today but totally forgot. I think part of it is I'm out of the habit. But it's also because we're in a new home. I have my scale in my closet, not the bathroom (no room there). I also had to get up and take the dogs out... one thing led to another and I never got back upstairs before I had my first cup of coffee. DH usually takes the dogs out before he leaves for work so I can stay in bed a little longer... but today I'm taking them for their annual checkups and need a stool sample for each. He was LESS than happy about getting it for me so I got up and did it myself. LOL I don't think he wanted the neighbors (who we haven't met yet) watching him put doggie poop in a ziplock baggie. LOL
I so want to get my mojo back. Today seems like a good day for that. |

today is a perfect day!
i HATE when i forget to weigh (when i'd planned to do so) - i always have a coffee and water first up, so if i forget, i HAVE to wait til the next day.

Finally remembered to get on the scale this morning... although, with my sciatica flaring up, it was a challenge to just get the thing out where I could (gingerly) get on it. Luckily the "on" button is a toe-kick on the side button. LOL Anyway, I'm down 2.5# in 8 days. I'll take it.
I went shopping yesterday and stocked up on meats and veggies. DH is away on a business trip so I have no excuse for not eating low(er) carb this week. |

Mid morning snack:
1 oz cheddar
1 boiled egg
couple bites of cucumber (it didn't taste right so I gave it to the dogs)
Lunch:
1 patty ground beef
mushrooms
sprinkle of cheese, low carb ketchup, bit of mustard
diet Sprite
Dinner... hmmm... I dunno yet! Maybe pork chops with sauteed cabbage (EVOO and garlic). Yup... that's it. |

Well folks, I think I'm back in ketosis. It only took two days. I woke up with that taste in my mouth and I'm down another pound. REALLY need to get all the water I can today... to support wt loss and ketosis. Looking forward to diminished appetite. BOY, am I looking forward to that. LOL
OH... the SUN is shining today!!! YES!!! It's still cold (38*F when I got up) but at least with the sun it looks warm outside. Makes me want to take the dogs for a walk... gotta find a new place to do that.
Plan for today:
B'fast: boiled eggs with butter
Snack: sliced turkey and green pepper strips
Lunch: pork chop (leftover), large salad, ranch dressing... maybe a boiled egg and/or some cheese on it
Snack: same as the morning snack
Dinner: pot roast, brussel sprouts (leftover) and mashed cauliflower
Water, water, water... and then some more water.
Finish painting the last room so I can get the bedrooms set up (and settled) this weekend. I'm sick of painting. LOL

There's only one way I like mackerel... it's when I catch it, clean it and throw it (still cold from the ocean) on a hot grill. YUM! Can't do the canned thing, though. GAG!!! |

Plan for today:
B'fast: boiled eggs with butter - check!
I do love eggs this way... boiled hard, chopped and topped with a dab of real butter and salt. Stir... YUMMY!
I've been thinking (no comment!!) about my motivation. What is it? What will work for me? What do I need to keep in the forefront of my plan, so I stay the course?
For now... this time...
May 9th, Mother's Day. We're going to my mom's house for the day. I want to be solidly on plan so that it's easier to STAY on plan that day. There will be a cookout, side dishes and drinking. If the weather is nice, we will be on her beach... sigh... I really need to be strong and committed to make it through.
May 16th, dh's high school reunion. I've agreed to go with him and a buddy. I'll be the designated driver, heh heh heh. No really, I don't mind... honest... LOL!
July 4th, family reunion weekend at my mom's. Need I say more? A long weekend of food, fun and drinking... with summer temps which means summer clothes (shorts, UGH).
August, dh's family week at camp. Again... food, fun, drinking and bathingsuits. DOUBLE UGH.
Biggest motivation seems far away, but it's really NOT when it comes to weight loss and body changes... February cruise with mom, brother/SIL/niece AND DH! I will NOT go fat. I will NOT. I refuse. Absolutely, completely REFUSE to be anything other than comfortable in my skin and my clothes that week. I will NOT go on this cruise feeling fat.
I won't.
I won't.
I promise me that.

As always, planning is key to my success. So, to help with that I just made a big bowl of egg salad (why does that always make me feel like it's summer???) and I have a pot roast in the crockpot for tonight. I added an onion and a clove of garlic. Looking forward to dinner already!!
I also got the birdfeeders refilled. The birds need to eat, too.
And I took an Advil. Waiting for it to kick in... when it does, I'll go give the front bedroom a second coat of paint. If I have enough left, I'll paint the closet, too. Yuck on painting closets. Better now than after I've filled it, I suppose.
Hmmm... almost snack time! |

Got the room painted!! Not enough left over to do the closet, though. Maybe at another time.
Lunch ended up being egg salad on lettuce with a little ranch dressing. And a diet coke. Snack was more egg slad with a green pepper. Dinner was pot roast and brussel sprouts... very good. I've had a LOT of water today... and tea.
It's been a good day.
No wine.
Make that a very good day. |

You know, I DID sleep well last night!!! Feels really good... with this sciatica flare up I haven't been getting much deep sleep, but I took two Advil and that did the trick. I hurt this morning... thinking the one Advil I took wasn't enough. Sigh..
On a positive note, I'm down another half pound. That's 5# since I restarted. YEAH ME! lol My next mini-goal is another 5#. That will get me into the 130's. Okay, 139.5... but still... in the 130's. LOL So... 130-something, here I come!!!
Anything is possible. Anything.

Tiggs... my first flareup was 23 years ago. I've been dealing with this for more than half my life. Nothing I've tried works. So when it's bothering me, I just try to not aggrevate it and I pop anti-inflammatories and pain meds. It will go away... eventually. It will come back... eventually. The worst one was last summer. I spent a week on the couch. Couldn't possibly do stairs. Heck, I went three days without drinking anything because I couldn't face sitting down to pee and getting back up. DH was gone on a business trip so I was alone. Not fun. As long as I can still move (even if it hurts), it's better than last summer.
And one more thing... PERKY??? Not perky like those waitresses at some restaurants, I hope. You know the type... "HI! MY NAME IS BRANDY (OR BAMBI OR TAFFY OR...)!!!!!! I'M GOING TO BE YOUR SERVER TONIGHT!!!! LET ME TELL (MORE LIKE YELL) YOU ABOUT OUR SPECIALS!!!" I hate perky. LOL
Having a hungry day today. Just cooked half a bag of baby spinach leaves and ate it all with vinegar. It seems to have helped a little. Oh... and LOTS of water.
B'fast today: eggs cooked in butter, coffee
Lunch: pot roast, lettuce, shredded cheese, ranch dressing, sf jello
Snack: almonds (NOT for Induction, ok for OWL)
Snack: spinach with vinegar
Dinner: (planned) cube steak with onion/peppers... maybe cauliflower if I feel like fixing it.
I need to go shopping... fresh veggies, cream and eggs. And meat. |

Mmm - maybe perky is a bit different in England?! To me, it means upbeat, chirpy, positive but NOT like a crazed waitress!! |

LOL! Okay... I'll take your version of perky! We have some restaurants that we avoid because the wait staff is "too perky". |

Oh yes... cooked spinach (I just lightly steam it or pop it in the microwave, so it's dry) with rice wine vinegar is wonderful!!! I like it better than with butter. Cucumber slices in vinegar are good, too!!! |
