I know, it stinks when you think to yourself how great you did only to be rewarded with a gain. Ughh. It will probably drop right back off. I know I worked out hard on Saturday, went to dinner with family and ate great. Passed on the fried bisquits with apple butter, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, potato's, corn and 2 different birthday cakes with ice cream that were being served. I gained 4 lbs from Saturday to Sunday. I figure I must have obsorbed some calories through osmosis or something. It was gone again on Monday though. |

Oh... it just keeps getting better and better. 132.0. Gee... guess I shouldn't have eaten that steak and sf cole slaw for dinner. I should have had the rice and chocolate dipped strawberries instead. |

LOL... I wish I could blame it on age, Helen. But I just don't buy it on a day to day (or within one week) basis. Maybe from my 20's to my 30's to my 40's and GASP... dare I say, next year my 50's. But not from Sunday to Sunday. But thanks... there's always tomorrow, if you take care today, huh? |

Ok Helen, I'm taking your age excuse (reason)...
133 this morning.
Good thing I'm home alone cuz I'm not fit to be around anyone today. LOL I took the dogs for a walk. The grass is getting too high. I don't like it when the grass is up to my armpits. I get spooked by the black and yellow garden spiders. They BITE! So until the fields get their first haying, I've got to go somewhere else. Maybe Siberia.

It didn't. We made an offer on a house yesterday... it wasn't accepted and the counter offer almost isn't a counter offer, IYKWIM. So, back to square one.
And... our plans for July 4th just went out the window.
At least the sun is shining today. I should finish up painting the garage, but the way today is going... I'd probably fall off the ladder. LOL |

Hope today is a better than yesterday. I wasn't good company for me, even. Wt this morning is 132.5. So down a bit. Better than UP, though, that's for sure... LOL
The sun is coming through the trees in my backyard... very peaceful. Wish the mosquitoes didn't like it out there so well. I'd be out there having my java juice. Instead, you'll have to put up with me here.

Everyone's allowed an "Oscar the Grouch" day once in a while dear. I'd say you are overdue.
Come down here if you want different spiders. Daddy long legs that don't bite but scare DH silly (They're big enough to fill the middle of a saucer) and heat for days.
Neither bugs nor bad moods scare me - you are welcome anytime.

Thanks, LL... daddy longlegs don't scare me at all. Not sure why, since spiders terrify me. I'm feeling much better... I spent two hours on dozing in the sun. I dragged my chaise lounge down from overhead in the garage alone. DH will have a fit, but too bad. I've been asking him to do it since we painted the patio. Today I couldn't wait any longer. The sun and nap did me some good... esp for my mood. I definitely got my vit D today, IYKWIM. |

Easy come, easy go... 131.5 this morning.
Got up and out this morning to meet a friend to walk at 6:30. We have a four mile route that we like to do to together. It was a nice morning for walking. She's at 201# trying SO HARD to get into ONEderland. I can't wait!!! She started over 300# so this is monumental. Maybe tomorrow!

I knew it would drop right back off. I am so ready to load up on some Vitamin D next week. A long nap on the beach in the warm sun sounds great.
Any luck on selling your house? It looks nice and peaceful there, the kind of place I would like.
BTW: Tell your friend congratulations on her success. |

Is your house the one with the dock on the lake (with a dog!) you had in a picture I saw a while back? Wherever that was looks like a gorgeous location. |

Thanks, guys!
I got another hour long nap in the sun today. Ahhhhh!
No luck on selling our house. YET. I'm staying positive, though. JD, the picture on the dock is at our camp in northern Maine. It's a log cabin, but around here you call your place in the woods "camp". LOL |

I'd really love to own something like that. Problem is my job keeps me incredibly busy at present, so I wouldn't have any chance to enjoy it.
It isn't all bad though, my living expenses stay low, and I'm on the road to being able to retire early, if I choose to do so. |

My dh works a LOT... so I know busy. The camp is our escape from all of that. We go there in the fall, winter and once in the spring (to fish). We don't go in the summer usually. It's really our hunting/snowmobiling place. We don't get there nearly enough... but maybe that's why we appreciate and enjoy it so much when we do. |

131.5 today
Been for a walk... met a friend and we walked in the rain at 6:30 for an hour and 20 minutes. Now I'm home, having a cup of coffee and waiting for my quiche to bake! Sleep is under rated.

Well... I've been getting caught up on my sleep. I've slept the last two days away. Tuesday afternoon my sciatica went into overdrive. I hit the couch and didn't move. Well, couldn't move. DH got home last night and this morning he got me some pain meds (I called and the dr's office agreed to call in a prescription since I convinced them the only way I was leaving this house was on a gurney). I'm fuzzy... and hot... and out of sorts... but able to move without using lamaze. I just ate something (couple fried eggs) so that helped, too. No food/drink since Tuesday. I just couldn't get up to get it... and if I drank, I'd have to pee... and that was nearly impossible. I went once on Tuesday and got stuck on the toilet because I couldn't stand up.
So... keeping myself drugged and crossing my fingers that this episode passes soon. Thank goodness for my dogs. They didn't leave my side. I'd wake up and find Diesel sitting at my shoulder, just looking at me. Once I'm feeling better, those dogs are getting LOTS of attention and long walks.

Still confined to the couch... called the dr's office and got some stronger pain meds. Still not able to move without excruciating pain... but at least these pills allow me to go to the bathroom. I'm at the computer because I want a cup of coffee... can't do that laying down. But it hurts. A lot. %$$%&#%!!!

My condolances. I get barely a touch of sciatica after some of my longer runs if I'm not constantly mindful of my running posture and thus I guess I can't really feel you pain but if it can get a lot worse than what I get really feel bad for you.
I hope it passes soon and the meds don't mess you up too bad. |

Bag... can you still walk? I can't. Unless I'm full on medicated, I can't walk. My left leg is useless... unless you call pain useful. LOL I've got 20 minutes until my next dose of vicodin... which is why I'm here, distracting myself. And watching the clock. I've had moments when I thought I was going to throw up from the pain. Jeez... I'd really rather be in labor right now.

Mine just acts up very very slightly towards the end of a long run. 10 minutes later, its gone. I'm concerned though cause this is new, it never happened to me when running before and I've seen the misery it can inflict in others so when I feel it coming on, I slow way down as to not aggravate it.
I hope it passes soon for you. |

Wow, you sound terrible. Sorry to hear your back is in such disarray. I hope you get better soon. I sometimes have lower back pain and I like a 2 year old and it does not sound like it is even close to what you going through. Not familiar with this disorder that you have but, being blunt, it sounds like it sucks really bad. |

Wt: unknown. Don't wanna know, either. LOL
Pain: fading slowly. Hope on the horizon.
Energy level: 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. Slept all night but still feeling exhausted.
Mood: calm, slightly melancholy, reflective, weepy.
Goal for today: S L O W L Y vacuum the house, pick up a bit and get out of here for a showing this morning. I have not told dh about this showing. He told me to say no if we got a showing request because he doesn't want me to vacuum, etc. I simply couldn't refuse a showing. We haven't had one in 3 weeks. So I said yes. Dh is gone and I'm not telling him about it. If we get an offer I'm hoping that will make it "worth it". If we don't.. well... as he likes to say, "it's on a need to know basis". I want this house sold. I want to move. I want to take the next step... and to do that, we have to sell this house. Nothing else happens until we sell. We're in limbo. So I said yes. The house won't be perfect, but I'm ok with that. It is what it is.

Wt: unknown. I need to just face up to things and get on %#&&* scale. I'm scared to, though. I don't know why... inactivity over the last two weeks, I guess.
Went out to dinner last night. It was SO good to get out of the house. Went to a new place... had never heard of it before but we saw on the menu it's a franchise so you guys have probably heard of it... Beef O' Something... O'Malley's maybe? I had a Sante Fe Salad (chicken, cheese, salad)... nothing special. I wanted a glass of wine, though, and the only brand they carry is Barefoot. I'm not a wine snob, but that stuff is terrible. Wild Vines and Boone's Farm is better. LOL (see... I know my cheap wines) Oh well, it was good to get out. I actually did my hair and make up and put on clean clothes. You forget how good that feels when you're sick.
Supposed to rain all week... so our holiday plans are kaput. And, I think dh and ds are spending the weekend working on gf's old car so ds can take it to Memphis. She bought a new car and is giving the old one to ds to use once they get down there... until he gets a job and can buy one himself. They leave on Tuesday to spend a week in Baltimore. They come home the evening of the 14th and leave on the 15th for Memphis. I don't know that we'll even see them before they go... except for this weekend. Ok, NOT going think about that right now... not not not.

Good to hear you are getting out again. Boone's Farm, now that brings back some memories. We would drink that on occassion when we had a little extra cash in my younger days. On poor weekends it was Mad Dog 20/20. heh...good times.
I think the place you are thinking of is Beef O'Brady's. I have not been there in a while but I remember them having reallly good burgers. |

That's the place! Beef O'Brady's. Guess that tells you how much the meal impressed me, I couldn't remember the name of the place. LOL We didn't know it was a chain... I swear it could double as an Applebee's. Are the two companies one and the same?!? Even the menus were similar.
Boone's Farm Green Apple. Oh, to be 15 again. |

Hi Tril,
I am glad you are starting to feel better. You are right - the whole house selling process sucks. You work like a fiend to make it look perfect and then wait, and wait and wait.
Oh well, maybe this will net you an offer. My dh and I are resigned to a long wait to get what we need out of our house.
I hope you are having a good day and feeling even better and I am glad you got out of the house. Being house bound and sick is enough to make anyone melancholy.
Take care,

I got a call from our agent... the people liked our house. They're taking the long holiday weekend to "think about it". Maybe we'll get an offer next week. Maybe not. Can't control that so I'm not going to spend much time thinking about it. LOL

Oh Tril,
I am so sorry. I remember getting in the car and following the moving truck out of our driveway in Florida in November of 1999. My mom was standing in the yard waving but I couldn't see her from the tears. Then, we passed my dad's business on the interstate and I couldn't pull over and go say goodbye one last time. It is heartrenching. You will be so proud of him though. And, to be honest, I never really grew up and knew I could stand on my own until my mom and dad were 3000 miles away. But, it sucks. I am sorry - I can feel a trip to Memphis coming on! Beale Street is awesome there. I am thinking of you and sending you hugs.

Thanks, Kage... didn't get much sleep last night. I dunno, just couldn't stop thinking and crying. Dh's snoring was all that much more irritating so I went and cuddled with the dogs on the couch. Now my back hurts again. Been up since 4AM. I am, however, more determined than EVER to get out of this house. I don't want to live here anymore. I keep thinking about ds hugging our older dog... his dog... saying goodbye. Yeah, I want out. |

Sorry Tril, It is really hard. This market just sucks but maybe the people that looked this weekend will make an offer. I will keep my fingers crossed. I hope your back feels better - not sleeping sucks. I also had trouble sleeping. Didn't fall aspleep until 2 and kids woke up at 6 am. Try to have a good day - it sounds like you need a break from home. Can you and dh get away soon?

Unfortunately, no...DH's talking about taking a couple days at the end of the summer so we can get to camp. He wants to mow the grass, get the wood in for the coming winter and fill the gas tanks. Big whoop. That's his idea of "getting away". I'd pack up and go visit my mom for a few days but that would leave the house buttoned up... and with all of this wet weather I can't do that. The house would get so stale so fast. So I gotta stay here. Like I said, I want this house sold. Now. I wasn't unhappy here before... but now I am. The only reason I had for being here just left. Stick a fork in me, I'm done.
My attitude sucks.
BUT... I'm making myself eat right. Two eggs in butter, coffee, cheese and some beef so far. I have shrimp and ground turkey thawing. I need to go to the store and get some veggies. 1 glass of water down... I don't want to do this, either, but I'm going to.

Sounds like you are had/having a wonderful holiday weekend. I am sure things will improve over time but it must suck right now. I keep checking your post to see if you have sold the house yet. There is a buyer out there somewhere and the market is beginning to open up again as the banks are loosening their grip on cash.
Focusing your energy on making the right choices now is probably the best thing to do. Perhaps it will keep you from sliding further down the slope into the abyss. |
