My official weight day is not till tomorrow but I broke out of the 280's this morning and into the 270's. 279.8. Feels great.

I'm officially down the equivalent of my 3 year old daughter. 40lbs over all. Yes she is big for three but there isn't an ounce of fat on her. She is a very tall kid.

Well today is the official weight in.

279.2 for an overall loss of 40.8 lbs so far.

I was going to wait till I got half way to 220 which is 270 before I started jogging (bad knees) but I feel so great that I bought some good shoes last night and can't wait to test them out.

Great news BAD, your quite a good little low carber. Smile

I'm with Lexi, take it easy out there BAD... remember the important thing right now is just making sure your Heart rate gets into a acceptable fat burning rate... an average of 150 is plenty probably.

220 - (your age) is your maximum Heart Rate... you probably don't want to do more then 80 percent of what that is. But hey, If your ready your ready. I guess I have to pick up the pace. Razz Laughing

I will check out the couch to 5 k program for sure.

My neighbourhood has a paved trail system winding through it. A loop around the trail back to my house is about 4 km.

My jogging consists of running for about 3 minutes, walking for 2 at this point. From previous thread mill use I can judge that my heart rate is in the right zone by how far out of breath I am thus the running walking combo.

I do hope to build up to running the entire thing over the next couple of months but I am taking my time doing it and don't feel like I'm overexerting my self at all. In fact, I run in the morning and by 8 pm once the kids are in bed I sometimes go again because it just feels so great.

On March 6 when I started this WOE I was in a size 44 pants and they were way too tight but I refused to go to a 46.

I was out last night with my brother who was buying some boots for work. For the fun of it I grabbed a pair of 38 levi's off the rack and tried them on.

I was very surprised and happy that they fit perfectly!

You're doing great. Let me know if you start the couch to 5k, I'd love to hear your progress. The program starts out with walk and jog intervals, just like you're doing, and gradually changes the times. You always have the option of repeating a week if the next week is too much. But, whether you walk or run, log your miles in the Atlantic Ocean Challenge Wink

Congrats on the new pants Smile

I have started the C2-5K program. I have been doing so much walking and jogging up to now that I'm starting right at week 3 as it is pretty much what I have been doing.

If the weather improves today I'll be doing day 2 of week 3.

Yeah it feels great.

To be honest I'm totally crediting exercise. Doing the couch to 5 K with a 4 K walk or 8 K bike ride on the off days of that plan I'm getting lots of exercise (but not even close to the point where I feel worn out) and it really seems to be doing the job. My legs are getting really toned except for the excess skin at the top.

All in all I'm losing all over except for the gut and the man boobs but I'm probably down to a B cup from a C cup so that's a good thing. Wink

I saw some friends that I hadn't seen in months at a hockey game last night (Go Flames Go!!!) and when they saw me their jaws dropped open and it felt great. It is funny how the people around you most don't notice as much but when you meet an old friend they notice right away.

A pretty disappointing week. I was down to 272.2 on Tuesday but then I caught a flu/cold that has my chest and head all stuffed up and sore. Tied in with little sleep I didn't get to do any walking or running. Net result was that I evened out at 273 after eating way too many atkins treats while doing nothing at the same time.

I'm going to try to do my run this morning even though I don't feel any better just because I was on a nice roll of reaching my half way goal and want to do it sooner rather then later.

Weekly Updates:

Starting Weight: Approximately 320 lbs
Week 1: 304 lbs (16 lb loss)
Week 2: 301 lbs (3 lb loss)

Week 7: 279.2 (5.2 lb loss)
Week 8: 275 (4.2 lb loss) End of Week 2 of C2-5K
Week 9: 273 (2 lb loss) Chest cold - no exercise

Well I had a great week. I still got my cold in the chest pretty good (my smokign doesn't help) but I ran four days this week and was pretty active otherwise so I dropped quite a bit and feel great despite the nagging cough. The time it takes me to complete my loop that I cover with the c2-5k has diminished greatly. My loop is going to have to get bigger for week 4 of the program as week 3 almost brings me back to my door.

Weekly Updates:

Starting Weight: Approximately 320 lbs
Week 1: 304 lbs (16 lb loss)
Week 2: 301 lbs (3 lb loss)
Week 3: 296.8 lbs (4.2 lb loss)
Week 4: 291.4 lbs (5.4 lb loss)
Week 5: 286 lbs (5.4 lb loss)
Week 6: 284.4 lbs (1.6 lb loss)
Week 7: 279.2 (5.2 lb loss)
Week 8: 275 (4.2 lb loss) End of Week 2 of C2-5K
Week 9: 273 (2 lb loss) Chest cold - no exercise
Week 10: 267.8 (5.2 lb loss) End of Week 3 of C2-5K (Half way to 220 goal)

I posted some before and after (well half way at least) pics in this thread:

End of week 11 and a lower loss. I blame it on liberal ingestion of nuts and Endulge products.

Running progressing very nicely however!

Another slow week of loss.

I haven't been sticking close enough to the diet lately. My meals are fine but I have developed quite a sweet tooth for Atkins Endulge bars and for mixed nuts. I'm going to have to cut that crap out and go back to just eating some almonds in my salad. I was doing fine at that stage.

I also broke last night and totally wigged out on popcorn during the first movie I've been to in a long time and while I'm down this morning I imagine I'll be back to 265 tomorrow.

At any rate, here's the weekly update.

ekly Updates:

Starting Weight: Approximately 320 lbs
Week 1: 304 lbs (16 lb loss)
Week 2: 301 lbs (3 lb loss)
Week 3: 296.8 lbs (4.2 lb loss)
Week 4: 291.4 lbs (5.4 lb loss)
Week 5: 286 lbs (5.4 lb loss)
Week 6: 284.4 lbs (1.6 lb loss)
Week 7: 279.2 (5.2 lb loss)
Week 8: 275 (4.2 lb loss) End of Week 2 of C2-5K
Week 9: 273 (2 lb loss) Chest cold - no exercise
Week 10: 267.8 (5.2 lb loss) End of Week 3 of C2-5K (Half way to 220 goal)
Week 11: 265.4 (2.4 lb loss) End of Week 4 of C2-5K
Week 12: 263.4 (2 lb loss) End of Week 5 of C2-5K

56.6 lbs total loss

Hey, sorry to hear your having a hard time right now with the loss rate! Is it boredom? Perhaps it is time to make some signifcant change to your diet...introudce some new recipies and that sort of thing.

Anyway...toss out the nuts and Endulge bars! JUST SAY NO!

Good Luck!

I believe it may be due to eating too little and drinking less water. I'm really having a hell of a time getting enough water in lately so I'm going to concentrate on that this week and see what happens.

Your still doing great, even with the extra nuts and endulge bars... But your right, tossing them is probably a great idea. I vow not to eat an endulge bar, for at least another 100 pounds or so. lol

Thanks for the lesson. B.A.D. Wink

You're welcome Wink

Smart choice. Those little buggers are delicious. I went over two months without craving anything like it. Tried one of those and now they are on my mind all the time. Went grocery shopping yesterday however and didn't buy any. If I can keep it to buying one, once a week it wouldn't be a problem but I've had binges as bad as 3 of them in an hour in the last two weeks so that's it for me. Back to strict induction with no nuts or berries for a couple weeks to get back on track.

Funny thing is in all of this though is that I have never been knocked out of ketosis in all of this so it kind of baffles me. I want to blame the nuts and bars but the ketostix suggest otherwise. That along with the fact that although I have not lost much weight, I have lost two belt notches in the last two weeks tells me I'm getting slimmer which probably means some fat is getting converted to muscle in my legs from all the running. I don't plan on stopping running so the bars will have to go. Perhaps the bars have been fueling the runs instead of burning the fat. My times have imporved a great deal which supports that theory.

At any rate, I'm hoping to break into the 250's by Thursday this week so we'll see what happens.

Phew.

I finally broke through my semi stall and had an acceptable week of loss.

It is really funny really. Took until Wednesday but when that day came I could actually feel my body's metabolism change. I had to verify it so I got a ketostick and sure enough I was dark purple again after having being only trace since Saturday.

I was blaming endulge products and they surely played some factor but once again I think the realy mitigating factory was water. It seems that I sometimes fall off the water wagon and don't drink enough. This occured to me on Monday and I made a big water effort again. I was up a couple pounds on Tuesday buy by Wednesday I was back to Saturday's weight and dropped ever since.

I ran every day this week except for Friday. The days off don't work for me as I said in another thread before. On the days I'm supposed to be off I run but much slower so I don't tear myself up.

I went on a mini shopping spree last night. A couple of weeks ago I tried but 38" pants were still a tad too small. I start a new job on Monday and everyone at my old job was congratulating me on that and on my weight loss. A couple of close coworkers told me it is time to get some new cloths before I start as my 44 and 46" pants were way too big and unflattering. Well I got cloths that I could never buy before. It is SO gratifying to be able to walk into any store and get something that fits. Most mall stores only go up to 38. I got a pair of FUBU jeans (I love cheap outlet malls) and a couple pairs of dress pants and some casual shirts. My shirts are now XL instead of XXXL. One pair of 38" cordory pants that were regular price 100 on for 20 were too big!! I even got a new belt. My 44" belt is going to be framed and hung in my basement for posterity! For someone as self conscience as me this past couple of days have been absolutely the best besides marriage and my kids being born.

My running program is going great. I just finished week 6 of it which means I'm up to running 25 minutes without stopping. It absolutely floors me that I can do this. 3 months ago I would be all in when I went up 13 stairs to get my son from his crib.

I felt so good last night that me and McKenna slept in the tent in the back yard. Urban camping.

Hopefully my bliss will hold up and I can hook some tickets for game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight. If I can't I hope they win so I can go out and celebrate in my new duds.

Anyways here is the weekly report. 60.8 lbs loss total. 40 to go but I don't think I'll get that low due to my build.

Weekly Updates:

Starting Weight: Approximately 320 lbs
Week 1: 304 lbs (16 lb loss)
Week 2: 301 lbs (3 lb loss)
