I'm getting really sick of eating egg and bacon every morning for breakfast so I've made some low-carb pancakes from a recipe off the net.

However I'm still panicking a bit that they're not low carb enough.

They're made with:

4 eggs
150g ground almond
1 or 2 tbsp of splenda
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp vanilla extract

I've tried counting the carbs in the ingredients and they come to around 2.5g each pancake.

So two pancakes in one meal with butter on... will it be ok?

Sorry, no almonds on Induction.

For the first two weeks, you really have to stick to allowed foods. Before your book arrives, read the stickies in the Induction forum - they will give you a nutshell picture of what you should do.

Acceptable Foods list is an exclusive list - in other words, if something is not mentioned by name on Acceptable Foods list, it is NOT allowed on Induction.

Please read through the stickies, it will make your life - and especially your meals - much easier.

It doesn't have to be eggs and bacon - look through the Recipes board - mock Danish, pumpkin/cheese cereal, flax cereal (this is a judgment call - I think it's OK, but the pure purists don't) are all OK for Induction. Other acceptable options are ham/cream cheese rollups, celery and cream cheese or last night's leftovers, whatever they be.

Essentially, anything from the Acceptable Foods list can be eaten for breakfast...

BH answered your question, but let me just say, "Welcome!" Before you know it you will be on the "Nut Rung" and Almond Meal is a wonderful addition (at that time.)

I'm fond of a little bit of smoked salmon on top of creamed cheese on zucchini rounds (or cucumber, daikon, jicama...any crisp veggie) for breakfast! (Or use Philly salmon flavored ... it's easy!) Folks at work are so used to my plan they don't even give me weird looks anymore!

Good luck!!

Toni
